I have a friend of mine saying the best team didn't win saturday.
That bama's FG kicker is the reason LSU won. I told him no matter what you think about the better team not winning , Both teams had their chance in overtime to WIN the game . LSU def beat bama's off and backed them up with - yardage . LSU off drove the ball to the goal line on bama's def.. for the chipshot FG win.

Both teams had their chance in overtime, and the BETTER team moved the ball down the field and WON the game when the chips were on the line.
Enough said

Exactly. One day the luck will run out, that's why we need to fire Les TODAY and leave on a high.

And the kickers are not part of the team and neither are special teams.

This is what's driving Bama fans crazy:

One or two things could have turned the tide (no pun intended) in regulation for either team. If we don't get that interception at the 1-yard-line, Bama most likely wins. If we could have punched in a TD from our first-and-goal at the end of the first half we would have been in great shape. More examples for both sides abound.

Close games like this are almost unbearable to lose, especially when your team seems to be the better team in almost every aspect of the game - which (for the sake of argument) they seemed to be on Saturday.

In a Bama fan's mind: The defenses were close, but overall Bama's is better. The offenses were close - almost a wash. Because Bama has Richardson and a more dominating O-line, they get the nod. Special teams - the kicking game - was the difference. And it sucks to lose that way.

It's just not fair.

Typical Babslama Tard... Tell him that FG kikers ARE part of "the team."

If the Booster Acquisition Committee had not spent so much on Richardson and his Mom/Mom's car they would have had budget left to influence some HS coach about a more accurate kicker.....

thats the message Bama got from thier coach after the game... The sign of a true ego maniac is that type of denial and delusion... We have the better coach, and certainly the better man as head coach.. Saban is a total arse with no class.

As someone who has endured many lucky wins by the dead Bear and bama, I will take this big fat W, put it in my pocket and be happy. Too many 3-0 and 10-7 losses to these jokers over the years.

And the head coach is not part of the team either. If Les Miles had decided to kick 48 and 50 yard field goals with kickers who don't have that kind of range, if Les Miles had put Mo Claiborne back to field a punt with an ankle that limited his abilities, if Les Miles had run a trick play with 11 minutes to go that didn't work, if Les Miles had a substitution penalty in overtime the media and LSU fans would be talking about what a bad a coaching job he did and saying he is not in Saban's class. But it was the greatest coach in the world who made those decisions and no one seems to be questioning him. They just want to act like Alabama lost the game not that LSU won the game. Earth to Bama Fans, we rushed for over 140 yards on you and Trent Richardson had under 100 on 23 carries. WE WON THE GAME.

It's absolutely fair - even if it hurts like fire to lose that way.

The kicking game is a major component of any football team and game. Sometimes it is mostly like background noise and doesn't get noticed. But sometimes... like on Saturday, every inch is crucial, and every kick is essentially a life or death thing.

Who remembers FSU's wide lefts/rights in some of those great key games versus Miami during their glory years? You can be sure the FSU & Miami fanbases do. [link=(htthttps://www.fanblogs.com/acc/003001.phpp://)]LINK[/link]

This one will be no different for the Bama Nation, and for LSU. LSU as a team was good enough to keep it even on the scoreboard, and LSU's great kicking game and special teams work took it over the top. Deal with it Bama. LSU won, you lost. It's in the books now.

The kickers missed 3 field goals that were longer than their longest kick...it was Saban's call to put them in the situation. It was Saban's call to play trickery in a grown man's football showdown. It was Saban's call to put Maze back in with a gump ankle...I mean gimp ankle.

Even with all that it wasn't Saban's falt...He was just flat out beat by a better Coach, a better man, and a better team. (a team that has dominated the series for the past 10 years)

Geaux Tigers...Time to steam roll to the Title...5 to go...

Had bama hit a few of those fg's we might've ran different plays and taken more chances downfield and who knows, maybe we score a td. Maybe we let r shep throw a pass. But we were playing it close because we respected t rich and their D too much. Same said why saban was launching 50 yarders...he needed every point he could get.

Against a team like bama I'll let them kick 50 yd fg's all night....even nfl kickers get squirly out that far

Love how since Bama missed very long field goals that it was their missed opportunities that lost the game. How about the fact that our D was good enough to not let Bama get close enough for a higher percentage FG try. Or the fact that as the "Best Coach Ever to walk the Earth" (according to the media)how about knowing the capabilities and limitations of your team and punt the ball and play for field position instead of playing scared. To me it looks like the only missed opportunities they had were missed opportunities for potential good field position thanks to their coach's decision. Also, what about LSU's missed opportunities. We missed the opportunity to score TD's when we got deep and had to settle for shorter FG's. We score touchdowns when we get down there and Bama's missed FG's wouldnt matter anyway. Bottom Line...best team won. Neither played perfect but if we had then we probably win by 10.

It's real simple -- the team with the most points on the scoreboard at the end of the game is the winner, the other team is the loser.

But if they want to discuss stats, the 148-96 rushing yards stat is quite telling as to which team imposed its will, physically, upon the other.

Let me put it this way guys. A national championship team gets a few breaks during the season. While there was not much separating Alabama and LSU more luck went LSU's way.

Kicking is still a part of the game.

Now the Maze interception was very questionable, all I can say is now we are even? 2009 no call vs 2011 call? deal?
