Joe Burrow standing up back there, hell I could if you let them hold like that. If they just call a normal game we can get to Burrow but if they let them hold like that...

Any bama fan complaining about any officiating is the epitome of an oxymoron.

I have no idea where this narrative is coming from in the state of Alabama that LSU was holding all game.
We got away with one hold, and Auburn committed a penalty on that play, so the touchdown would have been nullified, but it was still going to be first and 10.
LSU marched all over the field, and really only stopped themselves with some overly conservative play calls in crucial moments. If not for that, and a dumb turnover on a muffed punt, this game was a blowout. I don't remember exactly what the total yards were for both teams but I know LSU went over 500 and I think Auburn had roughly half that.
But Auburn and Alabama fans think LSU just held their way to victory. I think they are frightened by the fact that LSU has an offense that might actually be able to overcome the holding fest that we normally endure from the fighting elephants.

It's not about yesterday, it's about preparing the battlespace for November 9.

Alabama and their 'god' coach Bryant wrote the book on holding. They can kiss it!

It wasn’t long ago that bama went three years w/o an offensive holding call in SEC games.

I don’t know any Alabama fans that are scared of LSU. They are talking about the game , because it’s the next one up. And yes all of the Bama fans are giving LSU respect , they all know how good LSU is this year. But scared of you , don’t fool yourself.
And as far as refs go, all teams think the refs are against them. All teams get bad calls against them. Stop crying about the refs.

Bama fans bitching about officiating?

quote:I have to say the hold on that play was beautiful. Deculus kept his hands in, and when DL (Brown?) spun he gave him a good downward jerk and then let go. The spin move hid it a lot, and he let go just at the right time.
We got away with one hold, and Auburn committed a penalty on that play, so the touchdown would have been nullified
Holding is being called much less this year than in years past, everywhere. All teams. I'm guessing rules committee directed that in an effort to protect QBs.
Adjust accordingly. Keep those hands in, after striking pull down and don't push up. Don't hook the arm, drag 'em down and you stand a better chance of getting away with it.
Our DL needs to adjust to. Arm breaks (sweeping down to get OL's hands down) are more important, undercut moves are more vulnerable to a hold that drags you down.

That's not real.
That said...SEC refs haven't been calling holding much this season.
I suspect that's gonna change.
