I really think Saban will come after at least one of his kicks, and my guess is, it will happen when we have the ball near midfield.

They know the weapon Wing can be, and they often have a read and react kick where Wing has the "go" option as against UF. A slight pause with a little bit of pressure and it could be a field position and maybe game changer.

I hope that LSU plays conservative in the kicking game because we have an absolute advantage there and really no need to take any risks, but I've just got a funny feeling Bama will try make up for an obvious disadvantage in an unexpected area.

That dude can boom it with a ONE STEP kick.

It would be very difficult to ever block one of his punts.

They might as well try to block the kick mainly b/c there will be zero return yards.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. We'll be ready hopefully.

I agree he can, but he often has a delayed kick called. If it is called at the wrong time and he doesn't get the right pre snap read, and isn't aware after the snap, it isn't hard to block one at all.

exactly, if they don't come after one, they know wing's ability.

I heard him on an interview. He does that to 1) see if he can run 2) MOST IMPORTANT..he lets the cover guys get downfield before the kick.

He adjust the delay to the rush. There is no "call" to do it. It is just what he does.

That's not true, sometimes the call is to not read the defense. Sometimes (when LSU is in safe mode), he gets it, and kicks it - no delay. And I know why he delays sometimes, my point is that with it being so common, Bama will try and guess at the right time. With pressure, that little pause is all you need to block a kick.

I have felt this ever since the first meeting. Wing at times has a calculated motion. And we all know Saban knows plenty about blocked punts in title games in Nawlins, with his ridiculous "Punt Ugly" formation that gave Oklahoma one of it's two gift TDs..and put them in the ball game when absolutely totally stifled.

Much like Stoops challenged team in 2003, I expect the same desperate tactical focus by Saban/Bama in this game, in terms of coming after Punts.

I feel like I have a pretty good memory and I cannot remember this at all. I've seen someone say that on this board also that we had one blocked this season.

We haven't had a punt block in a long long time.
