I noticed that everyone is extremely high on Debo. My question is: Why did it take us so long to offer him?

Baker was pretty good. Certainly far from a liability.

Coaches weren't going to offer him without working out at camp. He missed the first one he was supposed to show up at IIRC.

pretty easy to figure out. Ask yourself the last time we had a stud LB. Then ask yourself how many 4 and 5 star LBs we have brought in over that time that have never taken that same step toward greatness.

we've had some decent LBs, dont get me wrong. But guys rated just as highly as these guys who either never lived up to the hype, or did nothing at all.

EJ KUale and Derrick Odom were the last 2 "badass looking" LBs and they both sucked.

Marginal guys like

Cameron Vaughn
Perry Riley
Ryan Baker
Darry Beckwith

who never quite took the next step. Teeter tottering on that line of being average and really good.

I vote Jones as meanest looking mofo in this group...

I think Jones will have the best career in this group. Amazing HS film. He's also very articulate.

Yes but they didn't have Chavis coaching them either. He's a proven LB coach and even done it here. Baker was decent and had a really good junior year. He took Sheppard and Riley from both being absolutely awful LBs to 3rd round picks...we'll be ok.

If we close this recruiting season with Beckwith and Jones, and 2-3 years LSU will be making a push for LB U.

For those who remember Pope and his brush with the law.....here's a 2010 update. Looks like trouble always followed him...

we have 6 legit guys in the OP post, you go back a decade to get 7. We have never had this much potential at the LB position as this class brings.

He's gonna live up to that name. He looks like he's ready to bring the pain.

Im guessing Granier recovered from his knee issues? I remember people talking about Miles still honoring his scholarship even though it was likely he would never play because of his knee.

Kelvin Shepard and Bradie James are the best in the 2000.

I know Debo personally, and he is really nice. Doesn't act like he is better than the team, and doesn't talk shite about how good he is

I think Feist has the potential to be one of the best LBs to ever play for LSU.

EJ Kuale looked like the bad guy in the Jim Belushi movie The Principal.

He almost ripped my friends head off, literally, at JLs one time while 4 of us tried to hold him back, until we were able to calm him down and make him realize my friend wasn't really trying to fight the bouncer.

What lbs were highly rated? Minter and baker. Riley and sheppard were inderrated. Kwon was a border line five star.
