Texas is the only team with the same amount of home games (6) that "out-attended" LSU and they can seat almost 10,000 more fans. LSU at #7 averaged 92.8 while teams #1-5 averaged over 100k and Tennessee at #6 played 8 home games.

pointed out by Mahootney in the SECr thread:

3. Alabama - 712747 - 100.00 - 101821 - 712747 - 7
If you add the two single game LSU listings for both Arlington and Atlanta.
LSU takes over the #3 spot and Bama falls to #4.
3. LSU - 719436

Good to see Missouri in top 25 and Texas A&M in top 10..

there is no way on God's green earth Texas averaged 100.4% of capacity. These numbers must all be paid attendance, right?

I agree it would be far fetched considering the kind of seasons they've been having lately.

i'm sure it's PAID attendance and not ACTUAL. UTexas doesn't know how to turn in anything but paid attendance figures (see baseball).

How in the hell did Oregon have 8 home games and still play 1 neutral site game? And we only played 6 at home. Our best season ever and only 6 home games. Wow.

They probably counted the conference championship game they hosted and didn't play any OOC road games.

I have a friend that was concerned that if we expand Tiger stadium, it wouldn't sell out. I on the other hand cannot fathom that we cannot sell out an extra 8000 seats.

Even with our crappy season we still somehow managed 105% of capacity.

Seriously?
You have a friend who got "concerned" over something that he has no control over?
Your friend needs to seek professional help.

All colleges use paid attendance and pros use actual attendance. Look at the attendance figures for LSU baseball. Do you really think there are 10k fans in the stadium for a Tuesday night game in February?

Yep. And there is no way on God's equally green earth that LSU was anywhere near 100% capacity either as far actual asses in the seats. Over 10,000 no-shows for Kentucky at 11:30 in the morning...and plenty of no-shows for the non-conference games.

yeah, he was all pissy about how CBS is going to show all of those empty seats and there is going to be a national perception that we are 2nd rate.

I wonder how much money LSU is losing by not having more seats and luxury boxes?
