Going back and watching film, when comparing the first half defense to the second Half is unreal. This defense, full of almost all first year starters (Lawrence, Greedy, Delpit, Monroe, White as well as more) you see an attitude change. In the first half, We allowed for Auburn to dictate what they were going to do. In the second half, this team became alive and started to make aggressive plays, which we really have not seen all year. DBs were playing tighter, The D-Line stood their ground, and Devin white is well... Devin White. I truly believe we will see a MUCH improved second half of the season due to freshman finally getting confidence in their own abilities as well as playbooks being adjusted to our strengths. We probably will not beat alabama, but I know for damn sure that we are going to give them a hell of a game. Geaux Tigers

We've played a lot of freshmen but we are not a young team, nor should that be an excuse in today's college football landscape.

I will say the freshmen olinemen impressed, similar to Trai Turner and Vadal Alexander stepping up in 2012

Similar thing happened with the OL, especially in pass protection. They looked like a completely different unit out there in the second half. I couldn't believe me eyes, honestly. How do you change that much between halves? Poor blocking can't really be fixed with strategic adjustments.

According to a stat line given last Saturday LSU has played more freshmen this year any other power 5 team!

They started playing way better in the 2nd quarter. That TD before the half was yuge

When you have to play that many freshmen, depth is an issue. For that many to play, either the upper classmen have not panned out, or the roster has been depleted by early enrollees and transfers. Either way, when you play this many freshmen, there is a learning curve. I think LSU needs to do a better job like most colleges to keep those juniors not slated a 1st or 2nd round draft pick.

No way !!!

I saw where a poster said it was done all the time for LSU and all of the other teams.

Playing over 20 freshmen is common place in NCAA football. If teams don't do it, they aren't trying to win.

How can you win if you don't play over 20 freshmen ???

Easy to forget how young we are in key spots. Plus kindof limited at qb. Now they are gaining experience and confidence which is key. Confidence is so important with young players. If coach O keeps the team wkin hard and grounded we should see them playing much better as the season progresses.
