Ummm... not sure how to begin to address this.

I'll talk down to you since you started your post that way...

We have the biggest fanbase

This has absolutely ZERO to do with making it to Omaha.

we ARE the Duke of college baseball.

Does Duke make the Elite Eight every year? What happened to Duke in this year's tournament?

quote:

It SHOULD be a goal to make it to Omaha every season;

You should look up the definition of the word goal and then the definition of the word expectation. There is a GIGANTIC difference. Of course, it should be our goal. Why would the players possibly play for ANYTHING less? Saying it is an expectation is completely and utterly ridiculous.

quote:

it's knowing what you are/can be. This season was mediocre by LSU standards

If you have any clue what this team was, you would realize this was not a mediocre season. You may not like the end result since you expect us to go to Omaha every single year, but this team basically had no semblance of an offense for a large part of the year. They played really well at the end of the year and accomplished a lot for how the SEC schedule started.

LSU baseball won 7 national titles

Let's see: 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000 and 2009. I am counting 6 National Championships. You are a HUGE LSU baseball fan.

The football team has been nationally relevant in late November ONCE (in 2011) since 2007- 6 whole years....despite 4 top 10 recruiting classes. What does that tell you?

Well, for starters, "nationally relevant" is extremely subjective. I'm sure you won't tailor the definition to fit your anti-every-coach-and-administrator agenda, huh?

And it tells me that we play in the single toughest division in the toughest conference in college sports and that - in life and in sports - shite happens. The only team in the country with an unquestionably better stretch in the last 8-10 years is in our division and we play them every year.
