I don't think fans 'accept' the 3-5 losses per year. I think some fans are afraid the team could do worse, while others try to find justifications for the recent downturn in performance.
LSU recruits like a national power, and should perform at a national power level.
When would 3-5 losses be acceptable? I'd be okay with a new coach coming in and suffering a few understandable losses as they were implementing a new system, if LSU went to a spread or Air-Raid type attack. (Tom Herman, for example)

3-5 losses is not acceptable now......with a new coach and system yes....for a year or two. The bar has been set too high now to start backpeddling with excuses.
