He did his job in the CWS by going the distance in that blowout

He preserved arms and might have been the reason they won it all

Should have been over after his first 5 appearances, last year

He has been perfectly fine in his first couple outings this year.

That’s great and all but he’s been terrible in basically every other outing in his entire career

He didn't have it when facing us a couple years ago and still doesn't seem to have improved.
Wonder what the pitching staff saw that we didn't.

The experiments will not end until loosing a game or series sends you home packing.

Should have been after he pitched in the CWS at 17 because that is where it peaked for him.

That’s typical Broski making a stupid, inaccurate comment and presenting it confidently enough that people agree at a glance. Little’s had 3 outings this year and had a 6.75 ERA in his first, one good inning pitched in his second, and his outing today.

Last year in SEC play he had 9 outings and an ERA over 5.00 in 7 of them, an ERA over 8.00 in 6 of them, and an ERA over 100.00 (!) in 3 of them.

He needs to see the bench, whatever they’re seeing in practice probably isn’t ever going to happen against good competition at this point. It’s hard to watch

He struck out 2 yesterday and nearly K’d the side.
They’re trying to see who can be trusted for multiple outings in a weekend.
He was probably only facing a couple of batters regardless of the outcome.
He hasn’t cost us a game this year and the coaches have stated that he has improved, what’s the problem with him eating innings in a blowout?

Why would we intentionally not allow him to pitch in a blowout? Yes he's been rough but Jay has to keep giving him chances because there's a chance he turns it around. There's no downside to putting him out there in a blowout

I’m trying to figure out why there’s a thread about Christian Little after Micah Bucknam gave up 4 runs without recording an out

Meh. He's been pretty good so far this year until today. Which could be chalked up to pitching on back-to-back days. His velocity was down a good bit today along with his command. Maybe he's just not a guy who can pitch on consecutive days. Which is not ideal, but it's fine. Better to learn that on February 25th than a March Saturday in Nashville.

Jay is figuring out how to best use arms in different roles. And since we have so many more this year, it's probably gonna take a little bit longer. Little may wind up not being a guy we can count on in close games at all. Or he may be a shut-down 1 inning a weekend guy. The "experiment" will likely continue. Much more important to figure those things out now than it is to run-rule Stony Brook in the 4th game of a 4 game series in February.

It shouldn’t get that far. He needs to be as far down the depth chart as possible.
