Since many feel(I dont) that Alabama is the road block to LSU taking the next step -

In the past 3 years, heres the point total for Alabamas SECw(+ permanent e) opponents

Arkansas - 70
Auburn - 59
Texas A&M - 56
Ole Miss - 53
Tennessee - 38
Miss State - 27
LSU - 10

Only 1 of those teams got shut out.

LSU has been shutout twice.

Hopefully Joe Brady is, in fact, the answer but theres nothing wrong with a wait and see approach considering the past 'success' of LSUs offenses. This will likely come down to how much authority CEO/Ensminger gives Brady.

Oh frick off with this shite. We know. Why do some people have to be so miserable all the time. I mean, how dare we show any hint of excitement for the year coming off a positive year last season.

LSU scored 0 points against Alabama last year.

Take out the extra game they played in overtime against ATM and the offense was ranked in the 100s

Again, I’m well aware. We are all painfully aware.

People like you contribute to why Alabama is stuck in people's minds.

You think that is something. Get a load of this.

In 1962 LSU lost to Ole Miss 7-15. Huh?

LSU is going to be fricked this season because of what happened in 1962. If it happens more than once it will continue to happen forever and will never change. LSU is doomed.

I am so miserable I just can't even follow LSU anymore and haven't been able to do so for years.

Im not, not excited. I just think we should temper expectations considering history. Maybe Im suffering from fear of disappointment.

I do think the offense will be better but some are absolutely convinced that LSU is going to do a 180. I dont think theres anything wrong with taking a wait and see approach. That would be prudent but some act as though we should all completely buy-in or we are being 'negative'.

I specifically stated,

Im just going off of what everybody else feels about the Alabama/LSU dynamic.

I think LSU needs to worry about the other 2-3 schools they lose to every year before they worry about Alabama.

Everyone saw the Spring Game. How many snaps were taken under center? ZERO! This is a different offense and that was sufficient evidence that the offense will be different.

Why? What’s the harm of having high expectations? It’s May. We have absolutely loaded WR corps, some stud RB’s coming in as well as several gifted backs returning, a senior Qb who only improved as the season progressed, and an additional year of online development (no early entries to draft) with rumors (only rumors though) of our best OL player potentially coming back.

Hopefully the addition of Joe Brady will modernize the offense and allow us to beat bama because the defense is going to be absolutely fricking loaded.

As to buying into the hype whole sale, I actually agree cautious optimism is best. But that’s not what you did. You started a thread pointing out (factually) how shitty we were in the past. That’s not cautious optimism, that’s pessimism/negativity.

And also let me say this, I don’t think you are an overly negative poster/person so don’t take my comments that way

I agree with you. LSU however has not visited Austin, Texas in 65 years. Texas is coming off a upset win over UGA as is LSU. Texas is hell at home much as is Notre Dame. It will likely be close and hellish.

Agree. I liked what I saw. Hopefully its sticks.

My concern is that CEO/Ens will panic and pull the plug. When the going gets tough, people with a weak constitution and catastrophe syndrome revert back to whats safe and familiar. This seems to be the personality profile of CEO/Ens.

Agree. Im excited about all of that. Like I said, I absolutely think the offense will be better. How much better? I think that will depend on the autonomy the bosses give Brady.

Definitely.

Super excited about the defense, as usual. Especially with yet another year under Aranda.

So come back in September if nothing until then is going to convince you. In the mean time people are going to discuss it and get excited, because that's what the off-season is for. I have no idea why some of you hang around here if the mood of the board perpetually offends you, and further more feel the need to announce it to everyone. No one gives a shite that you're taking a wait and see approach.

UT is a paper tiger. Always was, always will be. Your obsession with them is stupid

I know I'm glad we get them in September. They've been recruiting well and will have some major talent but it will be young, inexperienced talent, their experienced QB notwithstanding. I'd bet they would be a much tougher out in November. Tigers by 14.
