I'd be willing to bet that the disgruntled x-OSU players were compensated by SI for their interview. I wouldn't be surprised if there is no evidence, just the accusations of sound systems and new cars. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing is a HUGE exaggeration of a small, common problem among big programs. Players who are in seek of $$ can probably find it from alumni at any U, and if recruits want to get some tail, they can probably ask the current players where to find it.

Exactly. This story seems to be about Les first and OSU second. Which is the opposite of every other investigation like this. This is a clear attempt to go after Les

I hate to sound overdramatic, but it really does seem that way to me as well.

And it's not just Evans. ESPN is trumpeting Miles' name loud and clear every time they discuss it as well, despite not even a single one of these questionable and apparently misinterpreted "sources" ever saying anything about him.

I'm not usually a conspiracy guy, but this just doesn't make sense on many levels unless it's intentional.

]As citizen journalist it is on us to investigate the investigation by Thayer Evans. Something is fishy here and our sports journalist such as gg will in no way get this right or bother to look. It is on us.

Similar to the obvious Bama bias in scheduling.

Two of the players mentioned as having course work done for them are deceased. They can't be questioned to the validity of the accusations. That's bull $hit right there.

I mean, seriously, why the frick does every headline about this lead off with Les Miles??? It would be laughable if it wasn't so clearly malicious.

This is worth bringing in Carville to spin. I'm tired of us taking shite and then having to live with it.

People will read a story they think is about Les Miles. He's one of the 2 or 3 most successful coaches currently active in college football, and by far the most interesting of the bunch.
People will line their parakeet cages with a story about OSU.

Exactly. Miles is the "trophy buck" that they want to hang on the wall. That's why every story leads with Miles and why they don't differentiate when they quote players who played at OSU after Miles left. The casual football fan doesn't know exactly when Miles left OSU, so the inference that it all happened under him is enough to drive the story.

All the other "media" outlets are running the story, but they're not actually reporting the allegations or calling them truth, just reporting on the REPORT. That way if it all comes apart at the seams they can just lay it all on Thayer and say that they were just passing along the info that he gave out. Chicken shite tactics.

I am not one to ever o down the conspiracy road but seriously

The first day that the new is gonna break, it's about Les Miles time at OSU. With lines saying Gundy not implicated

First two stories come out and the years 2005-2011, along with the Miles years are all mentioned

Now help me understand this. Gundy is HC from 05-11 yet he's not "implicated"? Huh?

Dez Bryant is a Academic All American in 08, under Gundy and pretty much everyone knows that dude is as dumb as a rock.

But it's all Les Miles who's the mastermind? GTFO.

Seriously I don't think any coach or program is clean but when the dates/statements are truly examined in the light of day it is APPEARING to be a hit piece on Miles.

And I'm just not the kind of person who normally thinks that way but geesh it seems to be clearly agenda driven

Because Les is bigger than OSU.

I know but Saturday the line was Gundy isn't implicated

How can that be the narrative when he's been there forever is my point. Makes it seem like there is another agenda here, which there is

So basically Gundy is the one common denominator...not Miles.

SI: "We'd like to send writer to ask questions and investig..."

LSU: "No. Campus police will have any of your people arrested on site. We may not credential them for anything, in fact. We don't endorse tabloids."

How bout massive corruption at ALABAMA.......under Dennis Franchione (old news)

That's not a good comparison...

A massive corruption scandal at Michigan St. under coach Nick Saban is more comparable, and yes, that will grab most people's attention like this.

I'm not saying it's right, but it's obvious what they were going for and we all agree on that.
