Exactly. He didn't get suspended for taking it, without a Rx mind you, and failing a drug test. Why would he stop taking it now? If he has been taking it all year he will continue to do so until the consequences are worse than not taking it.

I've won this "argument"

I really hope this helps you fill that void in your life because clearly there is something missing.

Gray will have nothing to prove to MLB scouts on Friday. He will be one of the top 3 picks in the draft on Thursday night and the GM of whatever team drafts him is going to make sure he gets signed since many think he might be more MLB ready than Appel is.

Congrats on your huge win buddy

Why are we assuming he takes it for pitching and not for studying? I mean is there any evidence out there he took too improve his pitching. Garrett Hartley got suspended for adderall a few years ago but it was because he needed to stay up to drive for a wedding, not to enhance his focus for field goals (obviously)

He may slip a bit in the draft, hard to invest that much money in a junky.

It certainly could cost him a few dollars, but he isn't going to slip down.

True. But I mean people take adderall for all sorts of reasons. Hell I know someone who takes it to clean their house or just to "get shite done." Or they need to stay up and drive or they want to go out but are exhausted. I'm not condoning it's use as a recreational drug but it has gotten much more widespread in the last 5 years.

Even if he is ok without his fix, all the bullshite he may be dealing with over this may get in his head.

Someone who takes adderall, even without a Rx, is not a "junkie." If that were the case, just about every law student in america would be one.

The NCAA will most likely test him before and after he pitches this weekend, given the media hype of this.

Mainieri may even request the test, though I'm not sure if he can even do that.

If he's been on ADD for any length of time-- he's probably
Addicted -- if he's not taking it now -- then he will be in
Withdrawal for a few weeks . His focus and concentration
will be impaired. I'm a parent of a child with severe ADHD.
He taken this Med for several years--- when he's not taking
It--- it gets very, very ugly.

But as TheDoc alluded to, OU will see to it that Gray has a prescription for it by Friday.

That may not matter. It is a banned substance and you have to get a waiver by the NCAA to use it. Given the circumstances, that ain't happening.

Not according to the articles I've read. What I've seen is if the player has a legal prescription for adderall resulting from having a medical condition diagnosed by a doctor, he is allowed to take it.

That is what happens when your child, who needs it, stops taking it. But, what about someone who doesn’t need it for a medical condition? If you don’t need it (no prescription) and stop taking it does it cause the same reaction as someone who does need it?

Edit to say stop taking it.

Spot on. It's undetectable after 2-3 days
