I know exactly what you are talking about. I used to be the same way. After the 1/9 debacle Iwas so angry that night. I woke up the next day and said "never again will I let a game get me that angry and emtional". So far this season i have held to it, still have a lot of season to go though.

I would say it is the over-the-top "fans" that are mean and obnoxious to opponents fans, then during the game are jumping up and down yelling at all the fans around them that aren't as "supportive" as they are.

Fans who are reactionary and make no concerted effort to understand or analyze the true state of the team. "Positigers" and "negatigers" fall into that class. The team is neither always great nor always terrible.
Fans who leave games early and generally demonstrate a lack of enthusiasm. You lazy bastards.

Fans who bitch about things other fans do.
I don't leave early during a blow out (unless you count with 2 minutes left and us kneeling). I don't like to get wasted before games bc I want to be able to pay attention. I don't act like a dick to people around me. If in the student section I'll stand all game but if not I'll be respectful of elder people around me.
But I also don't bitch about what other people do, that's their prerogative...
I guess I'll say that I do HATE the Wave

The leaving early thing bothers me.. But what bothers me more is the excuse that "we were up by 40 points!!"... So if we blow out SC or Alabama and are up big against a top ten team early in the 4th... Does that mean its time to leave??? Those fans really piss me off

i love to drink and get pretty hammered myself at times. but some people (the ones you mentioned) get aggressive, belligerent and obnoxious and ruin everyones time that is near them. it doesnt have to be this, but the alcohol games before the game causes much of this. i enjoy drinking and shooting beer or whiskey is done only to get fricked up; no appreciation of the taste at all.

People who think they have a right to tell another fan how to be a fan.
Yes, there is a code of ethics that everyone should abide by. Sitting/standing isn't one of them. Something like cursing continuously while sitting a row or 2 up from children is.

It was a good time for reflection on balancing loving the team/school with keeping things in perspective. I don't know how effective the reflection was however.

The few Tiger fans that stayed in the stadium late in the 2001 UF game. Had they left also, we would have had the whole stadium to ourselves.

Fans that are clueless about football, which is an incredibly large percentage of our fanbase, and are always voicing their opinions.
I'm not asking everyone to be on the level of a Bill Belichick, but at least learn a little bit about the sport, or realize you don't know anything and shut up.

The ones that did not attend LSU, come to campus to get drunk/act trashy on gameday and only care about football and not about the academic reputation of LSU.
