LINK

Check it out. I'm mobile so posting excerpts is challenging after a few beers. But it does illustrate how the SEC west scenario might play out and create a problem.

quote:

Neither team has a bye weekend that lines up with the other, so that’s not an option. The teams both play non-conference games the weekend of Nov. 19 and could buy out those games to allow this one to go off, although it’s unclear if LSU would be willing to give up a home game to play in Gainesville — especially when they seemingly bent over backwards in an attempt to accommodate getting the postponed game in this weekend.

Gives LSU props for trying. First solid PR I've seen.

It;s a link to an article from NBC Sports so it's not some mom and pop website.

Good article but disagree about the SEC forcing the game to be played November 19th. Still don't understand why playing Sunday or Monday was taken off the table so early.

I was watching SEC Now and (despite Coach O's Christmas present comment ) I think we came out looking like the team willing to get this game played. I'm sure more will come out in time.

Florida wanted to duck the game. They'll make arguments about otherwise but that's the only logical explanation. LSU offered Saturday, Sunday, Monday in Baton Rouge or Gainesville. Arranged hotels in NOLA and BR. OFFERED THE LSU PLANE. Offered to play in an EMPTY STADIUM in Gainesville as to not engage emergency response resources.

They wanted to duck the game - plain and simple.

Agree. the fact that this game is already cancelsd shows what Florida wanted this to happen. We could have waited this thing out and make a decision tomorrow. Why not play in an empty stadium Sunday? Oh wait, because Florida doesn't want a loss.

Forget it. We lost this one. Even though our team is clearly better than theirs, their PR department was better than ours. They come out looking like the winners.

Plan a tentative Monday! Problem solved. Or duck the game.
