Jimmy Smith article at nola.com today says one faction of LSU brass wants Miles gone after A&M so they can get a new coach in place quickly to keep this years recruiting class from imploding, and the other faction wants to let him have one more year so he can go out gracefully.

Either way, Les is gone. Should it be now or after next year?

No. That's conceding a year.

Only if he's staying on as a consultant.

Has to now. Regardless of who the coach is, LSU is going to be really good next yr. if Les were in charge, it would put LSU in a tough spot.

Not okay with. Class will still implode (see Spurrier), reach a settlement with him, let him step down, and rep LSU if a front office spot is available. (Directory of player development or player personnel or something)

Every one of those frickers needs to have their board status revoked.

Why do you pay him all that money if you're going to waste an entire fricking season on him?

LSU should be bigger than Miles, apparently not if that happens.

Miles is a GREAT man, and I think it means NOTHING for him to get fired this season. He's entrenched in LSU history no matter what. Stop with this bullshite. The players deserve a season where its not about the coach retiring.

Hell no. that's the kind of attitude that put this program in the declone we are in. miles was paid to win games and field a strong team, and he has failed.

lol...

The thought of giving someone, especially one as important as the head coach, a retirement tour is laughable.

Anyone involved in the program that thinks this is a good idea should immediately be relieved of their duties.

I love les miles and really hate for this all to come to an end. That said, a farewell tour would be a disastrous move for the program. No easy way to break it off. You have to hire a monster fish to maintain the expectations for next season.

Screw the, we have a generational player, they need to figure out how to not turn him into just another player.

Nope. College football has become big business. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up for debate.

But sorry, that means you don't get to command a $4 million salary but also get the benefit of a feel-good retirement season.
