Are we a top 10 program?

I hear Miles Worshipers repeat this all the time. Could you please give me a link? Where did we finish the last 2 years?

i think we are like 11 or 12th in all time wins so maybe not top ten but we are close

When discussing which programs are "top ten" in the context of a general overview of the best programs in a given era, there's no question that LSU can be percieved as such for the decade just completed. 5 top ten finishes out of ten. 3 SEC championships, 5 west titles, 2 BCSNC, and 9 seasons out of ten with a top ten ranking during the season. Twice, only a heartbreaking bowl loss prevented two other top ten finishes. Yeah, I'd say they're a top ten program. Now let's see if we stay there.

Top 10 program and Top 10 ranking are two different animals. The program ranking is a cumulative thing whereas the ranking is a yearly thing.
IMO, LSU is definitely a Top 10 program. Didn't read the link above so have no idea what the experts say. I'd think that AL, FL, OSU, PSU, TX, OK, USC, and FSU should be in there as well. Obviously not all of those programs finished in the Top 10 this year.

no link for you dumbfrick. but look at how we have finished recruiting the post few years and how much revenue the program generates. LSU isnt in the same club as florida/bama/texas, but they are still well within the top ten. we have had a couple down years in a row, but look for LSU to bounce back big time in 2010.

Historically, yes, or right on the cusp. For the duration of Les Miles' career at LSU, hell no, not even close.
