I noticed two things about the link:

1) Mike has one hit and it was a bomb, and

2) Mitchell has 7 at bats, no hits, and 4 walks

Does their paycheck increase if they get called up? I would think not, but maybe?

They get paid MLB minimum salary while they are up and if they cross a threshold they get paid the whole salary for the year.

It is for sure a nice increase. If a player gets called up he gets the MLB minimum for the whole season even if he gets called back down.

he is in AA so it may take some time, but he could be pro this year. I'll be keeping close track I want to see his debut.

Orioles did the same thing with Gausman in 2013. After he was drafted in 2012, the pitched for about 3 games at each level up to AA in 2012. He started 2013 in AA, and got called up end of May.

Looks like the Phillies actually pitched Nola more in the minors than the O's did with Gausman. I don't know how good of an idea it is to fast track some of these guys the way they do. Gausman had his struggles last year, being sent down to AAA and used in the bullpen.

Is there any chance of Mike Fontenot or Brian Wilson getting another shot in MLB? Last I saw, they were both free agents.

16 guys in MLB spring training is really good. MLB is not like the NFL( all former college players). Many American players in MLB went straight to baseball, then you have many more from different countries. Also the rosters are smaller.

I agree that Nola stands a chance and if not this season, I would predict the 2016 season for sure would see him on the opening day roster.

As a fan of the Texas Rangers, I am hoping Anthony Ranaudo will show some vast improvement from a not so good spring. I believe the Rangers want to look at him as a starter on the minor league level first. Does anyone think he has a chance to be called up this season?
