Incredible how many LSU fans made the trip. One of our tour guides asked if everyone from Louisiana was rich. He couldn't believe how many fans traveled nearly 3,000 miles for a football game. We said we're not all rich, we just work to follow the tigers. Awesome!!!

Obviously not, if I couldn't afford to go.

Just got out of school.

Not kidding. Like I said, not rich, all in what's important to you. LSU sports is a high priority for Tiger fans. People in some parts of the country don't understand that as we do in the SEC.

You don't have to be rich to travel to Seattle for a couple of days. Are many LSU fans gainfully employed and comfortably placed? Yes.

Of course not, people in the South just love football and are willing to spend more money on it.

No but we will damn sure skip out on retirement fund contributions and kids college savings accounts to pay for LSU football stuff.

If rich means spending every dime you have on LSU football - then yes.

can be said for any fanbase IMO. if it wasn't the season opener, id guess a lot fewer fans would have made the trip.

like the previous poster said, just more lsu fans (compared to other teams) are willing to take the day off work to make the trip, spend the money on the trip instead of a weekend at the lake, etc...

I know me and my crew certainly aren't rich, and we wouldn't have missed LSU play in Seattle for anything.

For that matter, LSU could play in Baghdad and I'd find a way to get there. I'd actually love to see LSU open the season in Europe kind of like the NFL does sometimes ... how cool would that be? I bet 10k LSU fans would go to a Tiger game in London. While on this thought, Is their field turf in the Roman Coliseum??

While I'm dreaming, realistically I'd really love LSU to schedule a game at Boston College, at Northwestern, at Rutgers, at UNLV, at Hawaii.

JP,

I think Notre Dame is playing Navy in Dublin in 2012...Im gonna try to go, just because...ND has played there once or twice before, that'd be a hell of a trip for the Tigers.

All schools have rich fans.
Bama took 30K to Pasadena in 2000 for the season opener with UCLA.

While waiting in line to go back to our boat after the game, so UW fan made the comment to Hubby aboout how all the boats were taken by LSU. Their regular boats were not available for them to rent. Oh well.
