I'll just say you're wrong on that. This absence is completely voluntary on his part. If Key decides he has done what he needs to do by next weekend or next month or end of Summer, he can come back. LSU has not issued any kind of punishment or consequences. This is all on Arden Key's own timetable.
As far as missing a beat, I would agree with you there. All depends on the length he stays out. If he cuts it short, effects will be minimal.

One thing I know for certain is that coaches hate when a story gets leaked then they have to make a press statement about it.
It probably went like this....
R:Hey coach some students say they saw Arden leave with his belongings. What's going on?
O: Ooh I'm going to be making a statement regarding that in the next hour (in his rasby voice)
R: Okay coach,you have any statements now you wanna make since I want to be the first to report it?
O:I'm going to be making a statement on it in the next hour (in his rasby voice)

I am glad that people gave me chances to succeed after I made the mistakes in college that I made. I hope Key fixes whatever is plaguing him and that he comes back stronger and better.
