Mizzou sure seems to be active with this and we haven't heard much at all from LSU. They better have a plan in place or this will be another crap hire

Alleva does not negotiate. Ronald Dupree, your next LSU basketball head coach.

Seems like Mizzou is overpaying for Cuonzo. Isn't he still at under 2mil/year at Cal?

You either beg Joe Alleva for the job, or your don't coach here. Period!!!

"What Johnny Jones?! You really want the LSU job?! Fine! You're going to come here and get paid $400k more than anyone else will pay you to coach, bitch!"

"What did you say Ed Orgeron?! You're desparate for the LSU job because no one else will hire you to be their HC?! Fine you weak piece of shite! Here's $2.5 million more than anyone else will give you. You're going to take and you're going to like IT!"

had to look him up just to see who he was.
So he failed in the SEC already, and had 2 NBA players, as well as a D-League player last year and did next to nothing with them.

Sounds like 3.5M to me.

GG says Musselman could take the Cal job if Cuonzo bolts. Not that he's my first choice but he sure would be a nice consolation prize.

Failed in the SEC? He was post Bruce Pearl at UT, 32-20 with 2 NITs and a Sweet 16. But he wasn't Pearl, UT thought they could do better so he took an offer from Cal. UT got Donnie Tyndall.

But $3.5 does seem like a lot. Would be second only to Cal in SEC.

Tyndall would not have made sense if they wanted to do better though. He had risk written all over him from what happened under his watch at Southern Miss.

Pearl was a great recruiter, so he had that to work with, and they were coming off 6 tourney's in a row. He missed the tourney the first two years and barely squeaked in his 3rd year and played in the play in game.

He wasn't good enough for Tennessee's expectations.

what has he done to say he should be getting paid that much? He's had NBA talent at Cal, and made the tourney once, and underperformed greatly that year they did make it getting their arse kicked by Hawaii in the tourney. If it weren't for LSU with Simmons last year, their pathetic season with the talent they had wouldn't get overlooked as much as it does.

If LSU hired him i'd be pretty irate, regardless of salary.

Mizzou is ahead of the game for sure - We just need to offer one of the Tennessee guys now, before they go on cinderella runs in the NCAA - Specifically:
Steve Forbes at Eastern Tennessee, they're going to give Florida a run for their money
Kermit Davis at Middle Tennessee, they'll beat Minnesota

If that's the going rate, LSU's in trouble.
Plus, I would be pissed if LSU paid that much and only got Martin.

So if the guy in front of you pays $20 for his Big Mac, why should we?
