Why would you do that? Honest question.
I would take the UCLA QB before Gabriel.

Unless he will be a grad transfer it would be pointless.

It’s called leverage , he wants to get paid for what the market value . College football has become a business Oklahoma either matches offers or he goes somewhere that will.

Well we're not going to match. Today, he's better than our 5* Arnold. But it's his time now, He'll be a sophomore next year.

Would highly doubt it. He's the starting QB at Oklahoma. Where is he going to find a better situation?

Somewhere with top OCs and and recievers. He wants to take his game to the next level. And get paid in the process.

We don’t need a starting qb with 1 yr of eligibility left. We need a solid qb with yrs of eligibility remaining that can come in and compete with Nuss & be a solid backup

Pretty much. If we sign some one year mercenary, we'll be in the same spot again next year

Maybe he doesn’t want to play in the SEC.

Then I guess he wouldn't be coming to LSU

that makes no sense

he threw for 3700 and 30tds...not much higher for him to go statistically. The offense obviously shuts him well. Something else is going on

I had this discussion with an OU fan recently. They have a 5* QB sitting and waiting to start. Gabriel knew he only had one year to play there. This isn’t a leverage situation, he won’t be back to OU apparently.

Matt Rhule says 1.5 million for a good QB in portal. That's why
