My best guess

Antoine Duplantis CF
Cole Freeman 2B
Kramer Robertson SS
Jake Slaughter 1B
Beau Jordan LF
Nick Coomes/Bryce Adams DH
Josh Smith 3B
Mike Papierski C
Brennan Breaux RF

I think that's pretty much the lineup, give or take Adams or Coomes in that DH role.

Jake Slaughter is ready for that cleanup spot? How's he been doing in scrimmages?

The cleanup hole needs to be a power threat no matter what people may think. Because of this either Slaughter, Coomes, Adams, Jordan, or Romero need to fill in until Deichmann gets back.

No ones underestimating him but with a shoulder injury and him tweaking his ankle it's unwise to predict him jumping out the gate when he's battling two different ailments. I'm going to be mailing Romero some fish oil pills Monday.

Robertson will bat first. Duplantis will hit between 7-9.

I'm just going off of the lineups that have been posted by scuba in the last 10 scrimmages. Not sure why Mainieri would bat the starters in one way preseason and then jack with it on opening night.

That's a valid point but we all know CPM will play with the batting order all season long. He is not afraid to make changes.

Whoever is leading off against Air Force or hitting in the cleanup position is likely to be batting somewhere else in the lineup by SEC tourney time.

I don't think the scrimmage lineup is what he's dead set on doing for the regular season, it's a preview of things to come at certain spots but it's also a chance to put a player at a spot and give it a test run. This is just my opinion of what I've seen since '07.

What happened to Chris Reid? Is he hurt also or just get passed up. Good left-handed bat.

Main utility guy off the bench. He'll get plenty of at bats this year.

WTF...no way.

It hurt me last year to see Duplantis batting 3rd. He's a prime time lead off guy.

Duplantis, Freeman, Roberson, power guy is ideal.

I think you're close.

I'm just going to be thankful if we can make it to the season without another injury.

I hate it for the young men who have been hurt. I would hate it for anyone on that team. That being said, the 2 we've lost recently are big losses, not some guys who will ride the pine. These were 2 expected to be big parts of the lineup, so it seems it stings a little more.

Also, hate it for Cartwright. I know his oldest brother well and know how hard he was working to get back and how excited he was.

Here's to speedy recoveries for everyone and a damn strong season with us winning in 3 in the CWS.
