I can't help (and hope) Les is now hitting a point of desperation that he may finally allow a real offensive gameplan to take shape. Hear me out: the schedule coming up is brutal. at Auburn, at Florida, Ole Miss, Bama- 4 out of the next 8 games..all look like losses. He has nothing to lose....go for broke...either way, he is getting his $20 million.

I really thought this would be the case. He had a whole offseason to prepare. That's why I held on to shreds of optimism. Last week shows that's obviously not going to be the case.

Desperation does not increase one's aptitude.

He is so conservative that he does not try anything unless he reaches opponents 40 yard line. He should open up inside his own 20.

Unless it's so low that it can only go up...

Still need to run the ball to win this league.

Going pass happy isn't the answer. He will stick with running it and still win some games.

Just what he does. No changing it.

Got to remember people said LSU wouldn't win an sec game then they win 3 in a row and bama needed help from the refs to escape that shitty team in death valley.

No -- I don't get that vibe at all. I do think someone told him he had to answer questions though.

Nothing to lose, Les, try 4th down every series. Your jumping Aussie can't punt anyway.

Miles, his children, and future grandchildren are financially secure for life. When you're not working for the money, pride is all you have left to keep you from getting jaded. Eventually, that's not enough, unless you're like Saban, who has no life outside of football and will be dead within a month of retirement.

I think he's just burned out and has gone as far as he can go. I forget which commentator said that ten years is about all a coach is good for at one school, and that sounds about right.

Agreed. It is really hard to be desperate when you have all that money in the bank.

Problem at LSU is Admin can't be told anything and they don't want your suggestions or recommendations to improve a particular program, that may desperately need improvement.

But no. Les is not desperate. As Booger said on Mike and Mike this morning. Leopards don't change their spots.
