Anyone that's been to CoMo with parking, tailgating, or restaurant tips?

I know we suck. I'm still going anyway. Been looking forward to this trip for years to mark CoMo off the list of SEC stadiums. Any LSU alumni tailgates doing anything, or anyone in the RV lot cooking up something after the game? It's too early to do much before the game except mix a Bloody Mary.

I’ll be there and lived in Columbia for 5 years. Don’t get your hopes up.

The stadium has plenty of parking nearby and easy walking lanes. I’ve only been to watch baseball (LSU/Mizzou) and their spring game was same day. Stadium was maybe 1/3 full for the football. Baseball had very few fans. LSU actually had better setups for tailgating than the Mizzou fans did.

Booches for hamburgers is really good. Cash only bar with a griddle that's been used since like the 1800s or something.

It gets crowded in there, but if you're patient you can get a spot to sit and have a couple burgers and a beer.

They have shuttle busses that run routes to many of the hotels, so, if you don't have your own tailgating set up, and just want to get to the stadium, that's an easy way to do it. If you do find someone to tailgate with post game, you can take an Uber back to your hotel.

We're staying south of CoMo. Can you really just park on the shoulder of Providence? Do they allow parking in any of those neighborhoods SW of campus? There's one public lot just south of Truman, but it's really small. I'm sure it will fill up before 7am.

On game days, the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the Missouri State Highway Patrol prohibit parking on the shoulder of either side of Providence Rd, from Stadium Blvd. south to Truman's Landing.

So don't park on the shoulder of Providence unless you're well south of campus.

I'm going too! I went there twice for softball, but my 1st for football. After this, I'll only have Oklahoma left to visit all SEC schools.

Flying to St. Louis on Friday and driving over. How's the drive on I-70 from STL to Columbia?

I'll only have 5 left, including OU & UT, of the 16 SEC schools after this trip.

Not bad at all. Just don't speed through St Charles County (Foristell specifically, but other populated areas as well).

From the airport, depending on what time you're driving, it may only take like an hour and 40 minutes.

There is a good brewery in Columbia called Logboat brewing. Good beer, relaxed vibe.

Thanks Project... I land at STL at 3:05.

The two times I was there for softball, I flew into Kansas City & that airport is way north of town. Long way back to I-70. STL looks to be close to I-70 on the way out of town. That's why I'm trying STL this time.

Ehh, I don't think you'll have the quickest drive. You'll probably be on the road with some traffic. But probably still won't be much longer than a couple hours.

If you're looking for a place to stop on the way between STL and COMO, to let the traffic subside or just to grab a bite to eat, there is a good BBQ place off 70 in Wentzville. It's called Sugarfire. They have locations all over the St Louis area.

The same exit has a few other local chains too if you don't want BBQ but would rather just like bar food. I don't know the exit number but GPS should get you there.

Parking south of Truman’s Landing isn’t far, but it’s uphill to the stadium. I’ll likely park north of Stadium Dr near campus or even in a garage near downtown. It’ll will be easier to exit to I-70.

The lot near Truman is a parking garage. If you park on Providence you don’t want to park facing NB because you’ll be heading into traffic as you leave. However traffic is nothing compared to Baton Rouge. I suspect you’ll see some LSU tailgates in Truman’s Landing.

I’m staying in Wentzville Friday night and been wanting to try Sugarfire. Appreciate the recommendation.

BengalBen, thank you. From your othet thread, CAN YOU CONFIRM that shoulder parking is allowed on Stadium Blvd., west of Providence?

Were leaving right after game for a long drive, well into Kansas, so need to park smart, for an easy westward exit.

Sugarfire is awesome, we went to the one in Farmington. Before Covid, they were supposed to open a location in Columbia, but I don’t know if it ever went through. It was supposed to be next to Firehouse Subs on Grindstone.

Traffic on I-70 coming from the airport was a real bitch at 4:00pm. Took me 35 miles of stop and go before I was finally able to get to the speed limit. 2 and 1/2 hours to go 110 miles.
