Right, so why was it half the distance AND no first down?

It isn't an automatic first down because it didn't occur in the secondary.

It was half the distance because it occurred on the FLA 15.

No, only when it occurs in the secondary.

We held on the line. It isn't an automatic first down.

Shaw, the Referee is one of if not THE best in college football.

Shaw is solid, but he needs to get his crew in shape. The PI they scored on was crap, and there was a blatant hold on the TD (76 had his arms around our guy's waist as he was coming in to help push back). Then again, we could have had a blow to the head and a late hit out of bounds. Enough mistakes last night to go around.

The non PI call against Tolliver was really bad other than that I really didn't see what everybody was bitchin about.

Clean your glasses. CHatcher is nearly tackled on Dubose's KO return, and was not able to close the lane.

The reason you didn't hear Mingo's name all night is he was sexually molested by the Gator Tackles. ON moore's crossing route late, KeKe had Brantly in his sights before being accosted by the LT. I can't remember 1 holding call against either O-Line night.

Eugene's PI call was 10yds deep and 5 yds wide of the receiver. The call was tick tack anyway. The decapitation not called on TTolliver's 1st fade was blatant.

And Finally, How does a defensive lineman hold on a field goal attempt?

He grabs the offensive linemen lined up next to offensive linemen in front of him an pulls the offensive lineman towards him. This opens up a huge hole for the defensive lineman next to him to rush through.

It doesn't get called that often because it's hard to see. We got called for it in 2007.

i swear it looked to me like florida's o line was blatantly holding on almost every play. where the lsu defender is past him and has arms outstretched.

incidentally, the tight end got held at the end of the tenn game when lee rolled right. never got called. the replay was from behind the l.o.s. at ground level. it was pretty clear the tenn linebacker got beat. nobody talks about that. just that miles is stupid.
