Anyone remember Cam yelling at QBs in the Spring that they would run the Veer?

It was on a video of Spring practice and the QBs were horrible. Could not complete a pass. He stopped practice and started yelling at them that if they didn't improve that he would run it every play and they would run a 1950s Veer offense to make up for their lack.

As it turns out, he was right. The QBs are horrible and I really think that the coaches are doing the best they can with what they have.

That video sticks out to me.

Qb's is plural like playing two. We play one

We ran the veer 4-5 times, out of the pistol. Harris looked real good on it; just missed turning the corner for a big game. Jennings still can't make a read to save his life.

What I don't get is why we don't run the zone-read more with AJ.

Oh wait yes I do, because AJ is apparently blind and has no idea how to read the d-end.

Why didn't he coach up the 4*, pro-style QB from California? He just left last spring after two years on the team. He may not have been able to run, but passing is our issue. With the QB's LSU has, we're wasting any WR talent that's on the team. Eventually, we won't be able to recruit top level WR's to LSU.

He left too early, because he was lacking confidence to compete. Should have hung around..

He was never given a chance to compete.

I think that he was trying to make a point - that if you don't make these simple passes, we are just going to run the ball all season.

We passed the ball 26 times on Saturday night. The play calling was there. We completed 8 for around 70 yards. You can't beat anyone like that much less the number 5 team in the country.

I have no problem criticizing Miles and at times, he has deserved it. This loss IS NOT on Miles. It is on the players. Yes, it is the coach's job to get them ready, but we know that they have been trying since at least the Spring. They cannot make Quinn catch those 2 passes or keep Alexander from being stupid.

absolute truth. AJ is awful at zone read, and it's baffling. He's still making the same wrong read that he made in the bowl game last year.

I have come to believe is the truth. It really is a terrible situation. They can play either QB, the results remain the same.

I remember the clip well and often think about it. Couldn't complete simple slants with no defenders. Cameron was saying how can I call a pass play? I have unsuccessfully tried to find it in the past. Maybe someone with better computer skills than me can find it.

Possessive, not plural.

Yeah, if anyone can find that clip, I'd appreciate it. I have no idea who posted it but it was a Spring practice clip. It was discouraging, but I just thought we'd get it worked out. Apparently not.

I think it was either a tigerdroppings video or from one of the pay sites. It was a series of videos and that happened to be one of them.
