vs Nebraska when they were #1 and Rusty Dominque blocked field goal at the end to preserve 6-6 tie? He later that nite stabbed someone at the FAPs bar in a scuffle! Anyone know what happened to him? Was he arrested, suspended, play again? The brain cells a bit foggy from that era! TIA

The 2nd blocked FG attempt was his last play as a Tiger.

As I remember, he was suspended from the team. He "got religion" and I saw him several times preaching at the Alley by Student Union.

As an aside, we were at Faps/Zacherays when the assult happened. I think it actually happened across the street from FAPS in the Zacks parking lot.

I believe he served over 5 years in prison.

This is my csb....He was a youth minister at CLA in the 80's. I got caught drinking beer by a teacher one w/e and Rusty picked me up in the hallway slamming me into a locker saying "I heard you were sipping on the suds your arse is mine at practice". Practice comes we are in full pads and he calls me out and says to run at him. he is wearing a suit so i jog over to him and he forearms me to the head knocking me down. Naturally my teammates laugh and I am rather angry and he tells me to run at him again so i go at him full speed thinking i am going to lay him out and boom another forearm back on the ground and dazed. He yells take off running which I did for next 2 hours.

A few years ago I am talking to an ex LSU o-linemen who played 10+ years in NFL and I asked if he knew Rusty. He said hell yeh I knew him i was with him when he bought the knife at steinbergs.

I learned in 1996 that you get your arse knocked off for coming at coach. Lesson learned????

btw, I learned my lesson in no more pads than a cup (baseball). I wish I would have had a chest protector on!

FAP's and Zachary's were the two bars. Everybody just walked from one to the other.
