Anyone notice coach O’s comments about recruits at the White House gathering?

When someone asked him if he had done any recruiting on the trip, he said not directly, but the publicity from the trip would help in recruiting. He then said, I hope recruits see this, especially QB’s who can take Joe’s place.
That was a paraphrase, but it was something to that affect. He made another comment about needing a QB to replace Burrow earlier during the event.
Am I the only one who thinks it’s an insensitive thing to say while Miles Brennan is standing at the event and hearing the coaches comments?
At the very least, it can’t do much to bolster Brennan’s confidence.

I heard it and thought “what about Brennan?” Think Trump said something about another one like him and Os response left me wondering “what about Brennan?”

Maybe he is just trying to light a fire under his future QB.

When did all the hard work begin last year?

He didn’t mean it that way. He’s all in on Brennan

Yes. Because he's not talking about 2020

Had Coach O ever really made any public comments about Brennan? I feel like he’s got potential but may be the next Jarrett Lee.

Unfortunately, Myles needs to be a rock.. We just won a natty and will be looking to defend it. We should welcome the competition to get the BEST QB on the field for next season.

With Burrow leaving, what's wrong with this statement? You think he's just gonna announce right now that Brennan is the starter without giving any of the other players a chance to compete? What kind of message would that send to recruits speaking of recruiting?

No, but it’s the only position ever singled out and the only position where only one player can fill.

I swear that most posters on here are watching the Lifetime channel when something LSU isn't on, you have to be thick skinned and a little bit tough to play sports, you will see some prima dona rbs(looking at you Etienne,) dbs, and wrs talking about being disrespected and whatnot but the shite you have to endure to stay in the mix is just part of the deal

Of course he’s not

-Doesn’t fit the prototype of a CFB playoff QB

-Was recruited under a different coach

-He accepted a Burrow transfer cause he didn’t think Brennan was a dude. In a era where good QBs are starting earlier & earlier

-Again they’ve been in contact with D’Eriq King

-Brennan has not looked good in the in-game opportunities he has been presented with

Not everyone has the chest to qb at LSU. Part of what made joe so great is he dgaf about any of this bs. He was going to earn it with the opportunity he was given and was determined to play so well you couldn’t take it back from him.

I do think O’s comments were much broader in scope than just Brennan. I mean he was asked about recruiting. Brennan is already on scholarship. Man up, pansies.
