an athlete....who has the speed to return kickoffs

Pretty sure LF is one of the fastest players on the team. That being said, if he's going to start getting 25+ carries a game like he did last night (and I hope he does), then I would hope the coaching staff will find someone else to handle kick returns.

I feel like that might be a good place to use Diarse.

Yes I agree that LF shouldn't be returning kicks because he's more important as a running back and he's frankly not that good at it.

Yes
Chance for injury too great and Durel or quinn could get the job done.

I think LF isn't elusive enough on returns. He is a one cut and go type that is a great running back, but doesn't ahve the change of direction that is needed for kickoff returns. With that said the coaching staff may not feel as good about others back there. But ideally he isn't our best returner we have had in the recent years.

FWIW I posed this same question after the first game and got ripped for even asking it.

It depends on who we put back there IMO.

LF is still averaging 23yards per return, which is like 4th or 5th in the SEC.

People are over reacting about him as the returner.

BUT... If we lean on him like last night, and we should, to were hes getting 20+carries per game... I would like to see someone else back there strictly because I dont want him to wear down.

The question is, who do you put back there?

Dural? Hes too valuable to us to risk him back there IMO.

Hilliard? NOPE... sarcasm

White? He already does punt returns. Im really comfortable with White wherever he is and think he would be an excellent kick off returner, but hes also our top CB by far and already returns punts.

Honestly, the guy I would like to see back there is DJ Chark. I think it would be a perfect spot for him. Hes a WR and excellent athlete with great speed. And has already played so its not like he can be redshirted. I think its a great way to get him out there and get him adjusted to this level of play.

Yall do realize that he is averaging 23 yards per return? 6th in the SEC And he has the 3rd most returns in the entire SEC. 2 guys ranked ahead of him have less than 10 returns and both of them have a KOR 97+yards for a TD. And it should be noted that our blocking has been pretty horrific on KORs.

Hes actually pretty good at it. If hes gonna see 20+ carries a game for the rest of the season, which he should, then I wouldnt mind seeing us take him off of return duty due to risk of injury and wearing down. Hes a RB first. But to say hes not good at it is just false.

And the question is, who would you put back there then?
