No and no.
LSU will run the football whenever they want to,and Johnny Football gets exposed versus and elite defense.

They give up too many yards off the ground, and are pretty thin in the front 7. Stable wears them down & simple jack can run his offense.
Close game, though.

Based on what I've seen from Lsu on the road
It's a 50-50 game

It seems to me LSU always struggles with mobile QB's.

Johnny will get his...Mills, Collins must be wary of Johnny throwing deep after rolling out/scrambling...contain Johnny as much as possible, no big pass plays and we win comfortably...if not nail biter to the end...GEAUX TIGERS

I think A&M is a good matchup for LSU but will still possibly be a close game.

A QB like Manziel, has the ability to almost single handedly forge an upset. Think Vick, Cam, RG3, guys that took teams that were inferior athletically, to greater heights than they would have otherwise achieved.

From that aspect, I am worried that he might have a special game for himself and negate LSU's huge talent advantage. Chavis had great plans for the 3 run/pass QB's we faced against USCe, Fla, and Washington..and I fully expect him to have a similar plan for dealing with TAMU.

whoa, reverse it man. LSU is a bad match up for a&m. we are built for power and these guys don't have that much depth and have not really seen that this year. our d has seen their type of team before and generally plays well. yes, they will get lots of yards and will score some.

It is a great match up for us. We've never had issues with mobile QBs. Oregon last year, Shaw, Driskell, etc.

On Defense they are soft and we should be able to run it.

ETA: Not saying we're going to roll over them because it is an away game and our team has shown itself to be error prone at times. Just saying if we lose it won't be because we don't match up well.

The only bad matchup is that their OTs are very good

I still like our DEs against their OTs but the advantage that our DEs usually have won't be as significant as it usually is. Our guys inside are going to have to step it up.

Manziel is a bad matchup imo

Our secondary is not as good as last year, wide open people all last week

Texas has a strong Oline

On the flip side, our Dline/linebackers are lights out and our running game is strong

With all that said, last week the refs let both teams (LSU/USCe) hold like their was no tomorrow. If holding is called early, expect our offensive line to struggle.

Close game. LSU wins.
