Anyone else not amused by the excessive trash talking?

I don't like it one bit. I can understand a bit of 'chatter' out there but what the secondary is doing right now is well over the top. And I don't care if it 'costs' us or not.

Its part of every major sport there is. The only reason anyone is actually talking about it is because Kirk and Brent wouldn't SHUT UP about it Saturday night. It happens all the time, get over it.

This. It's all about getting in their heads, which LSU clearly did. WVU was trying to pick fights and junk. Oregon did the same. Its swag, and I like it.
Plus, who the f cares when they perform like that and back it up?

I dont hate it.. but the last fricking thing I want is the school I love being associatied with ThugU of the 80's. whethere its today or 2 months from now or 2 yrs from now... I dont want that reputation and neither should anyone posting here.

It's a form of intimidation. It makes receivers scared when they run a hook and know they're about to take a hit. It makes the quarterbacks nervous, which leads to bad decisions.
But a lot of the trash talking is a reaction to the trash talking of opponents. I doubt we were trashing Northwestern State.

Les was asked at Lunch with Miles about the trash talking. Les said he likes his players to play with confidence and believe in their own ability. Most importantly he said he wants his guys having fun out there.
