I would prefer a mediocre coach who can recruit and runs a clean program over a scumbag like Davis that has his players cheating so they can be eligible to play.

If you think for one second that that stuff doesn't go on here or at Auburn or at Georgia or at Alabama or at Ar-Kansas or anywhere you're crazy.

You do realize they he actually cleaned up Miami's program.

exactly.

I don't blame Davis for this mess I blame the players and whoever was trying to cover it up so Davis didn't find out.

No, you are the crazy one for saying it does. It doesn't go on everywhere you jackass. You are pissed because once again Les Miles program is free of the kind of scandal that so called "better coaches" like Davis carry around with them like old luggage.

Didn't we get caught paying a d-lineman's rent and shite just last year? This goes on all over the place.

No, we didn't. It was some kind of recruiting violation on a JC kid that never played a down. Coach responsible was canned and violation was self reported. Nothing like the massive cheating that has gone on at NC. Not even in the same universe.

THis is more on the individual players than on Davis. Now the tutor scandal is different. BUt no one really knows what went on yet. So, I'll save my judgment for later.

it was Davis that came in and cleaned up Thug U down in Miami and handed over a NC team to Coker that one it the next year, so far from what I've seen Davis was not aware of what was going on...I still reserve judgement until all the facts come out...

If not for Butch Davis telling LSU that the NFL was on his radar he may have been the next coach of LSU over Saban back in 1999.

No, because if Davis was hired we'd all be pissing rainbows and shitting unicorns. All we got with Miles was a silly National Championship.

i will take 8-5 or 9-3 every year as long as we are not getting caught doing that kind of crap and getting arrested on a regular basis. of all that miles is criticized for he needs to be given props for recruiting the right way. stuff does go on evrywhere but i think it comes down to how much and what your doing that determines likelyhood of getting caught.

UNC has always run an above board program. The vast majority of thier student-atheletes can actually do more than block print thier names. Calling Davis a "scumbag" is way off base and unwarrented. Carolina will clean up this mess and make the necessary adjustments. All that being said we should kick the living shite out of them this weekend.

OK calling him a scumbag may have been over the top, but he recruited thugs who rather cheat than work hard at their academics. Miles would choose an intellent player over a thug anyday.
