He may have a solid senior year but he's just not that talented. I love the kid , he's gritty , tough , and a solid teammate. With that being said he has an absolute noodle arm... he could be very efficient in Canada's offense but his arm isnt even close to Flynns.

Why do people keep saying this? He doesn't have the strongest arm in the world, but it's far from a noodle arm. On a scale of Jennings to Russell/Mett, he's in the middle somewhere.

Why isn't he talented? Is it because he's a 4 star recruit? Is it because he was the 9th ranked QB in his class (miles Brennan is 7th). Is it because he was rated almost identical as Jamies Winston coming out of HS? Is it because he had a better passer rating in his first year operating a run heaven system than Matt Flynn did in his 5th year operating a wide open offense? Exactly why isn't he talented because every scout and talent evaluator says he is.

Jordan Jefferson has 2 seasons with a higher qb rating than Flynn in 2007(hell he was top 5 in the sec in 2009) and you swear he is the worst qb ever.

I'm not saying Etling can't have a successful year, but he's got nowhere near the arm talent that Flynn had. It's a bad comparison, IMO.

Only in comparison to Russell. Flynn had a very strong arm, as demonstrated with the Green Bay Packers and elsewhere in the NFL. Etling does not have that kind of arm talent. He's got some moxie, though.

This!!!! i don't get the hate and down play if DE's talent. Any other Gdamn 4 star coming out of HS gets praised but this kid gets shite on. He's improving and gave us a solid effort last year. What else do you want?!
