Everybody's talking about the traffic. Not everybody shows up to campus at the same time, so that shouldn't be a problem, and after the games, they never use the street lights anyway, so they don't have to be fixed. Just because the citizens of a city don't have power doesn't mean the entire city has to wait for the last house to get it's power back to go about it's business. If I was sitting in a hot arse house with nothing to do for the past week, I'd be praying for a football game.

With Ike heading farther south towards Texas/Mexico border, LSU will be playing in Tiger Stadium. Traffic was horrid Monday with everyone heading back to work and half the red lights out, but that won't be the case on Saturday.

I just got my power back yesterday and need a break from all this cleanup. I don't ever want to see another chain saw.

but when Katrina hit all I heard was complaints from Baton Rouge residents about New Orleans residents filtering in the city...about congestion and traffic in Baton Rouge..and how it cant be that bad in New Orleans for all these people to have come here.

i don't remember any of that.

i remember the complaining about traffic, but there was never a serious comment saying New Orleans cant be that bad. if there was one, then it was by an idiot.

All they need are routes in and out and tailgating space. This is all in place. Play the damn game in Baton Rouge.

I can understand where yo are coming from, byt after 5+ days stuck in the house with no power cept from a generator, watching a fuzzy channel 9, sleeping on the floor in the living room because that is where the window unit was, i want to get out of the house and forget about last week.

Going to an LSU game in TS is what the BR area needs.

Baton ROuge as a city can handle the game now! The only thing wrong in Baton Rouge is power outages. There are no dead bodies blocking the roads to Tiger Stadium, just traffic density due to power. And that problem will be less of a problem come friday the saturday. There are people that are suffering from loss of power, but things are getting better by the day.

Whoever thinks we shouldn't have a game this weekend in Tiger Stadium because of a hurricane that hit nearly two weeks ago and a hurricane that will hit fricking Brownsville,TX this weekend, are big fricking pussies. And yes, I live in Baton Rouge and just got power yesterday.

How will the BRPD's asinine 8:00 curfew effect travel home from a night game in Tiger Stadium this Saturday?

We can play the game this weekend. Traffic will suck terribly, but I'll be there.

To people who live in BR:

As an almost lifelong resident of MS, I am sorry for everything that has happened to you. When Katrina came through and hit MS and LA, I was without power for over a week in Pearl, MS. I know what you are going through. It was almost unbearable. I didn't go stay with anyone with power.

I will say that to follow up with this: The national media are fricking trash, and they really dropped the ball. It seems like just because the storm didn't hit NO, the media didn't give a shite. I did not even know BR was hit that hard, until i saw the pictures from LSU's campus. I graduated from LSU, and seeing those magnificent Oak trees ripped out of the ground and hearing you guys' stories is heartbreaking. Especially someone who went to LSU and walked through the quad and the campus all the time. I have a deep appreciation for everything that is LSU, and the people of Louisiana.

So, if the game is moved, i will accept it and will positively understand. You guys are not alone, and if anyone needs anything, just let me know. To all you Louisiana residents and LSU fans who were affected by the storm:

contact entergy and tell them to get shite back up

You've obviously never worked for a utility company, much less in an emergency restoration after a major storm. I can assure you the Entergy guys that are on the street working are doing their absolute best. 16 hour days, seven days a week if I had to guess.

That being said, by Saturday, there should only be minimal outages remaining and it won't affect game time in TS. I am sympathetic to the conditions many are having to endure, but this game really needs to be played in TS this weekend, Ike allowing.
