This worries me more than anything. As you said, Steele's rep is that he tries to run an over-the-top complicated system. That's something that is needed when you are over-matched, but it's unnecessary with the talent LSU has.

Steele knows LSUs program. He and chavis are life long friends, he said if it ain't broke don't fix it. Im just thinking he may bring a lil bit of other stuff to the table he might have learned from saban. I also wouldn't be surprised if he tipped off saban at bama considering the late collapses against them since hes been there.

They talked ab this a lot during the spring game actually. He knew people working here and the whole lay out of the facilities already. May actually turn out to be a really good fit. I hope so at least.

Russell Gage and Lionel Williams. I'm pretty sure neither will be playing much at all.

First string looked really good and capable as well as Toliver. Then we get Thomas back in the fall along with Cutrer and Jackson coming in (and that's only the corners). Of course you're going to have blown assignments with young guys learning new things after only a few weeks. This is nothing to worry about this early. if it happens often 4 and a half months later during game time, then we have something to gripe about.

To be fair the purple team scored running the ball after going for it on 4th down twice, and on one of them not getting it. Miles basically let them. Then immediately called the game. The white team played lights out, and would have only given up a fg or had a turnover on downs with 2 minutes left in the game.

Why are so many people so damn passive agressive on this board?

Geaux.

Check your attitude. You are apparently in the wrong thread.

This one is expressly about the spring game. Dooooosh

It's a message board you arse. I can comment on what I want in whatever manner I want. I quoted a specific portion of the OP which mentioned one of Steele's tendencies and responded to it.

If you don't like it, ignore it and move along.

Did I miss something on Voorhies? Was he hurt for the game?

I hope you're right. I would love to see a more aggressive style of play from the D. I just hope he doesn't fall back into making the checks and reads overly complicated, which is something he's been known to do.

Since you are replying in this thread I wonder if you know that he has been moved to LB. Either way, I don't think I saw much of he or Garrett. I think Voorhies is third string.

Oh this was the wrong thread. There's like 4 about the spring game right now

I saw Garrett with the 3rd string but no Voorhies.

Considering that it was a mixture of walkons and second stringers playing on the purple team and the white defense didn't give up any points until the very end....no not really.

Quit trying to ruin a good spring.

gd why do you ALWAYS have to be a knee jerk pussy....the defense gave up a total of 6 points, and that was after Les made a point to allow them to score, then end the game. Holy shite dude....

I expressed general concerns over Steele and his tendency to overcomplicate his defensive schemes and checks.
That will not work at LSU!

Lou Tepper tried that overly complicated nonsense (Drop Linebacker BS) and it wound up getting DiNardo fired. Remember he said it was going to take FIVE years to fully implement his defensive system.

Don't make the athletes have to think too much. You'll be dead in the water if you do it in the SEC......
