Mainieri goofed, plain and simple. He thought even our second string could take down a patsy like Alcorn.

Wrong.

Our second string IS Alcorn.

At least he put the A team in before it was too late.

His only mistake was thinking Faucheaux could get anyone out.

Should we pitch Nola in game 1 of the regional too?

If our batting lineup and defense will consist of Bregman and 8 backups... yes!

at least that would give us the best chance to get out of the ULL regional as quick as possible.

Where do you see college baseball rosters are reduced for the post-season? Unless this is a new rule this year, that has never happened.

LSU won the game.

And young, inexperienced players got the chance to make their case for PT in the post season instead of being sent off to summer ball when the post season starts.

Mainieri is thinking so far ahead of you it just makes you look like a perma-troll, which is what you have become.

It happened last year when two or three players didn't stay with the team in the post season. They went to summer ball early while the team was still playing.

I want to see them against quality competition in a hostile environment. That's the best way to decide if they can handle the pressure of the postseason. I say we start them Friday at A&M.

In what world will Stone, Dean, or DeHart ever get a postseason start?

It was Hunter Newman who was swapped out of the roster when Laird came back healthy (if I remember correctly). Not a very similar situation here. Pitching is needed in postseason play when the staff gets thrown a lot, not middle infielders...
