He's at LSU and attending classes. Ineligible for this season so he's taking a redshirt.

That doesn't mean he's not at the school, FFS.

He just finished an entire semester at LSU.

Took a redshirt. Wasn't cleared by the SEC.

He should be good to go after this semester after proving he can cut it in the classroom.

Serious question:

If the problem is the legitimacy of his grades at his HS. How is he eligible to be a student at LSU? Because the NCAA clears him? So the SEC holds him out. What prevents them from doing the same next year? Situation doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense.

no none seems to have any info on the status of T. Valentine. It is almost like the issue got buried and the SEC office is stretching it out as long as possible. How long does it actually take to review transcripts? The NCAA cleared him in August!

Will he definitely be eligible for next year? If not, he ( we )should take court action. It seems that he is being held to a different standard than everyone else. This has gone on too long.

The NCAA cleared him. The SEC cleared him. Bo Bahnsen and LSU Compliance noticed a technicality on his transcript and then reported it to the SEC which then went back and flagged it, which meant he couldn't participate this year.

So it wasn't Birmingham or the NC-Double-A-Holes. It was our resident compliance A-hole, who takes great pleasure not in helping us figure out how to provide our varsity sports every advantage possible within the rules, but instead takes glee in taking a punitive, almost adversarial role in policing.

If this is the case, something must be done about it now. We always seem to be our own worst enemy. If Rashad Robinson flunked out, why do we find out about it the morning of the Alabama game when the semester is not even over yet. These people in the compliance office need to be reassigned to the vet school and put in charge of getting Mike the Tiger into his cage. Let them do something productive for the university. Who is in charge? Other coaches in the SEC - I won't mention any names - would never let this happen. I know one coach in particular - I won't mention his name - who would have Valentine eligible to attend Oxford right now. And I am talking about the one in England, not the one in Mississippi.

LSU is its own worst enemy. Its like LSU strictly hires bama grads for its compliance dept.

I hate to say it but this is rather true...not to that extent but LSU is tougher on itself than other SEC schools

I would argue that in general LSU has had fewer issues with violations than most in the SEC - especially considering they are near the top year in and year out in recruits signed.

Having fewer dealings with compliance issues is erring on the right side of that equation IMO.

not one disagreement with that take.

Just frustrating in certain situations, but LSU is still 8-4 with Valentine, probably , maybe a extra win

It does when u realize the SEC is in Alabama and they didn't want him in LSU's defense this year.
