I can't find exact article, but I think Advocate reported last week that he threw from mound for first time, did well, and is still hopeful to pitch for first time in mid-April.

He is the "Valentine" of Baseball and doesn't really exist.

Does he play for LSU? Then probably not.

Per Doug Thompson, he said earlier today on 104.5 that he has been dominant and hoping he comes back late April early May. Guessing he will see the bullpen, so hoping he can bridge the gap from starter to Gilbert.

He has NOT been dominant. He hasn't even pitched yet. It was only last week that he pitched from an elevated surface for the first time since his surgery.

We'll find out when he makes his first appearance. Hopefully it's three weeks from now.

Close. He threw from a raised surface that was not the correct distance away from the plate according to Mainieri. What that means, your guess is as good as mine.

You misunderstood Thompson. He said Latz "has been dormant and hoping he comes back late April early May."

I thought I remembered the report being that he wasn't even pitching...just throwing.

Mid April seems to be a pipe dream. And, whenever he does pitch, the thought that he is going to immediately have his velocity back is unlikely. And, of course, he isn't going to be sharp.

Yeah, think I would prefer a dominant pitcher every day of the week compared to dormant.

Why do you people feel the need to trash the team you're supposed to be a fan of? Where did you play college ball at?

Chandler Rome tweet a few minutes ago:

LHP Jake Latz threw a 30-pitch bullpen at A&M. Coaches were "fired up."

Live hitters "hopefully" next week
