Sorry. Just saw this thread otherwise I would've responded sooner.

Still doing great. Weight is up close to 200. Dude is getting jacked. He says learning the offense is like drinking from a firehose but he believes he is managing all of it and likes what he is being taught. Short, casual conversation not long ago..... overall I'm optimistic.

Yeah...ok.

That boy can play some football. He can play left, he can play right, don't make no difference. He can block, tackle, score the touchdown, snap the ball and kick the extra point. Hell, the boy will fill up the Gatorade cooler, walk the dog, and paint your back porch. I'm telling ya, the boy can plain outplay football. Ohhhhhh....AND HE CAN PASS!!!

If he becomes the starter, the guy behind him will be better. Just how it goes in Baton Rouge.

...How about accuracy and reading a defense.

These are not things we have to worry about with Brennan.

Weight, yes. Football IQ, althleticsm, and mental toughness, no.

Okay here's the truth as I've heard it from his high school head coach who is now the head coach at Denham Springs and is close to the LSU coaching staff. Brennan now weighs 197 lbs and will go into fall camp at over 205 pounds. He has a personal student assistant teaching him the offense two hours every day. He will be ready mentally and physically going into fall camp. I have personally seen him, this Summer, at LSU throw the ball 60 yards on a frozen rope right on target, not once but all day long. His velocity and accuracy is as good as if not better than ever. In his first rep in 7on7 last week he was 10 for 12 for two touchdowns and no ints, with the ones. If you don't believe me ask around to whomever has been at those workouts. Brennan may not start this year but he will see play time. And he is the future quarterback of the LSU Tigers. You might as well just write it down now.

I have no idea about the accuracy or reliability of the above, but I want to believe. Most encouraging thing I've read here in a long time. Loved your posts, CC. My grammar nazi nitpick is to point out that hearsay is one word.

He is working on routes and learning the plays with another former Stanislaus QB that's a student assistant, because of NCAA rules, but goes to MC's house to discuss the playbook with him..

Who could these possibly be? Did Canada bring some GAs from Pitt?

Maybe I am off base, but wouldn't someone capable of reading a play book be able to quiz him on plays? That person wouldn't need to know all the details, just enough about football to ask the right questions while looking at the book and Brennan is not.

He's the first real TF QB that we've signed in quite a while. (Not a RB/Athlete trying to play QB without advanced Passing/Reading Defenses skills)

So were Rohan and Jamarcus a RB/athlete or did they not have skills reading defenses?

Or were they just omitted for some OTHER reason?

He'll be the next Jones/Hodson.

Now, when's the announcement come for the McMillan and LSjrGOAT transfer or position change?

That's funny. Scott having scored the highest wonderlic of any person to ever stepped on campus, seems far from an ATH trying to play the position. Dont expect any transfers at the position.

If any of these guys fail to produce (including MB), I'll be sure to check your comment history.

Well if you have been to any of the summer workouts you would have observed that Narcisse is absent from most voluntary 7on7 workouts and the extra voluntary team throwing drills. So I would contend it's hard to learn the offense and work on timing and accuracy with your receivers if you're not there. Maybe he is at rehab to build strength back in his knees and that would be a good thing

I've been to summer workouts. LN has a entire spring semester under his belt. Not just short and shirt summer drills, without coaches. As to what you heard concerning 7v7, and MBs weight gain, you're stretching it. Stop it.
