Hilliard had a couple or one carry into the crowd at the line.

I think Hilliard was 4 carries for 8 yards IIRC

As far as Magee, I kept hoping they would give him some touches lay year.

Dude is a beast. I think hes won the role of being the complementary back / #2 RB/ change of pace guy to whoever is our #1 RB, either Blue or Hill. The #1 RB will be either Blue/Hill, and then Magee comes in as the #2 RB. Pretty nasty.

Hes perfect for that role. Hes physical and strong enough to run the ball inside, and fast and shifty enough to run to the outside. Thats huge for a complementary guy. With Ford, everyone knew when he was in the game the ball was going outside. You tip your hand before the play even starts. Same when Hilliard would go in. The ball was going up the middle. With Magee, nobody knows where the ball is going because he can do both very well. Keeps the other teams defense on their toes.

before the game everyone was saying hill or blue, this guy could sneak up there and be our leading rusher, if he gets the carries

I agree 100% ebouillion.

And I know its still early and that he just played significant minutes for the 1st time in his career, but I think Magee is the type of RB the NFL likes. Shorter, stockier, with big play speed that is a great pass catcher and can run inside and outside. Hes a pretty complete RB. Ray Rice-esque. And Magee can play special teams.

Im not saying hes going to be great in the pros or is our best RB, but i could see him being under the radar whenever he enters the draft, and be a steal for some team in the mid to late rounds.

But I want Magee to get the 2nd most carries on the team behind Hill.

Good enough for me and my Terrence Magee.

Did Hilliard get any touches at all last night? If so, I missed 'em

At least one inside the redzone where we had everyone in tight and said here we go.. stop us.

Hilliard managed a yard or 2.

I hope the TD to Magee from the spread in the redzone in the 2nd half helps define our offense there.

We are much better when we are not predictable.

Completely agree. And Magee helps us become not as predictable. Last year when Ford was in the game, the ball went outside 99% of the time. When Hilliard came in, the ball went inside 99% of the time. Everyone knew that.

Magee has the speed and quick moves to run outside, but also has the strength and physicality to run up the middle. And he is great at reading blocks out there and is so stocky and plays low that its a bitch to tackle him.

Liked what I saw from T.M., ran hard, good vision, suprising speed. Looked real good for game one.

Blue looked a little out of sorts at times--missed block on blitz was glaring error. Ran the ball better as he got more carries but made some mistakes I didn't expect given his experience.

I'm not surprised with Hilliard at all... Seen him play several times at Patterson he is not dedicated enough he tends to get sloppy and lazy at most times... On the other hand for Magee he is an all around back and can carry the load... The kid carried the rock 30-35 times in high school per game... I'm just glad they gave him a shot!!

He may be the best running back on the team.
