This will sound bad but I don't want to see that qb running around our defense

Actually, I think maybe our D would match up well against a Louisville type offense. Seems like the big bruising running teams give us more problems. Then again, who knows.

meh...none of those teams are exciting to play...I guess I would choose Miami if I had to

Perhaps not, but they are all more appealing than Iowa or Minnesota to me. And, the SEC slots the teams, I believe, but the bowls do have some say. I guess that Tax Slayer is thinking Kentucky fans will travel in droves to their first halfway decent bowl game in a while.

Yes, but I want to skip work and day drink while watching the game.

ETA: I guess Outback would work too.

outback against iowa/nebraska

It will be Nebraska.

Iowa is a long shot at best for the Outback bowl due to Big Ten rules.

quote:

The league office now facilitates all communication between the schools and the bowls. Their contracts call for each bowl to take five different teams over a 6-year period. The goal is limit travel fatigue for fans. Among the cases cited is Wisconsin, which played six consecutive bowls in Florida from 2004 through 2009. It’s also designed to prevent bowls from bypassing better teams to invite those who bring more fans. Considering both Iowa and Nebraska beat Minnesota, it’s almost a shoo-in for those two to land in the Holiday and Outback, respectively. The Hawkeyes have played in four Outback Bowls since 2004, with their last appearance in early 2014. The Cornhuskers have competed in three Holiday Bowls since 2009 and played in San Diego in late 2014. Nebraska never has played in the Outback Bowl. Iowa hasn’t played in the Holiday Bowl since 1991. Ding, ding.

I think the tax slayer took us off their list

Where'd you see that?

For OP, probably:

-Citrus/Orlando
-TaxSlayer Gator/Jacksonville
-Liberty/Memphis
-outside shot at Sugar Bowl depending on rankings Tues

-I'd eliminate Texas, Outback, Music City, Belk...IMO we won't get placed in those having been to all recently and Belk is just way too far

If you go to the citrus bowl website, they have Florida State, Tennessee, and Auburn as some of the favorites to play in that game.

From a tweet they sent last week. We were not on their group of four SEC teams.

Found it...

LSU not currently under consideration by Gator Bowl

So I guess that means Citrus or Liberty... I guess maybe Outback but it would have to be a really good matchup IMO to send us back to Outback so soon

Playing FSU,Louisville,Nebraska, or OU would be fantastic. Playing any other team in a bowl especially Iowa or Minnesota would have absolutely zero excitement behind it. Hell I don't even know a players name on Iowa or Minnesota. It would be the lowest bowl turnout ever by LSU if we play freaking Minnesota.

I'd rather face Iowa/Nebraska. The Kentucky loss really removed any interest I would have had in Louisville.

Facing the probable heisman trophy winner would be a lot of fun. We just faced Iowa not so long ago and they bring absolutely zero excitement. Nebraska would be great since we haven't faced them in a long time and have never beaten them.
