Mingo is a pro linebacker not a defensive end. How many times does this need to be stated?

I think they come back. Maybe some unfinished business.

They are both projected to go in the first round. Why on Earth would they come back?

Sonic Sam could have gone in the first round after last season. He came back this year.

True, but why stay another year? He came back to give it another shot, and it's over. I hope he leaves and becomes a productive pro. He has a career to look after.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more.

Sometimes guys just want to stay. I dont know. Can't really answer any reason why, other than they just love their school and want to bring up some of the younger talent under their wing.

He did give it another shot but this team is going to be stacked again next year.

With that being said, do I think he will stay? No

But, is there a chance? I would say very remote.

Montgomery is gone, he almost left last year
Mingo could possibly come back but I don't see how he can pass up his draft status

Mingo could stay another year to bulk up. But if he is projected in late first and/or early second and with the new structure of NFL rookie contracts, there may not be an incentive for him to stay.

Sam Montgomery will go pro no question and who could blame him as he is an early first round prospect.

They said they're a package deal. If one goes, they both go. And vice versa.

He is projected to be a top 10 pick.

ETA: Possibly top 5.

3-4 OLBs with Mingo's athleticism are rare, scouts will salivate over him. He'll go and go high. Don't get your hopes up over him having an "off" year

So I take it that you are also convinced that both of the aTm offensive tackles are also GONE!

I would love to see either one of them get drafted by the Saints

Ali Highsmith was rated a 1st rounder at this point in his senior year. "Expert" draft boards are FAR from gospel at this point. I would bet heavily against any team picking Mingo before #20 with his lack of production this year and his being too thin at this point even for LB in the pros.

This is true. To be honest, I'm more worried about Sam's combine performance than Mingo's.

Mingo needs to go to the NFL he is a wasted talent here,IMO. He is a stand 3-4 OLB in the nfl and a wet dream for coaches like wade Phillips. Having said that if he wants to come back I won't bitch
