Stat line last three games...

5-13 from the field and 0-6 from the 3.

4-17 from the field and 3-11 from the 3.

0-9 from the field and 0-4 from the 3.

Bench him and start Josh Gray. Josh at times we all know has played out of control, however he's our only aggressive player right now. I'd rather take my risks with him than continue to watch Blakeney throw up bricks.

I disagree. Blakeney is struggling for sure, but we need him to find it if we're going to go anywhere this year.

Definitely agree we will need him down the stretch, but he's hurt us way more than he's helped the last 3 games....which we've gone 0-3....Josh Gray deserves a shot at the starting line up this year.

Have watched him play in several "big" games here in Orlandeaux. I know college is another level and sometimes the talent does not translate, but this kid DOES have the talent. It's early, and quite frankly NONE of the players are "living up to the hype."

In the two games that we've looked the best in my opinion Josh has gone 6-11 from the field and 5-11 from the field. He's got a scorers mindset and until we get Hornsby back and Victor eligible I think he should be getting more playing time over Blakeney....going off of real stats.

I think this team starts to gel by conference time. Hopefully we haven't done irreparable damage before then.

Well, not unless you want a guy who never saw a 1 on 3 or 1 on 4 mismatch he didn't think he counldn't score against. If Gray is in transition he is NEVER passing the ball to an open teammate.

Blakeney isn't the only one struggling. Sampson and Patterson aren't doing much better. The offense is a complete and utter mess. LSU is playing rec-league style basketball against structured college teams.

5 games into his college career. Get a grip. There are going to be some growing pains. He can flat out play...........

#2 shooting guard in the country.....9-39 in his last 3 games. Unacceptable.

I said after watching the very first game that I thought Sampson should start over Blakeney. Also that if you didn't know who was who you would think Sampson was the star recruit and Blakeney was the mid level one.

that's been the biggest surprise for me with both Blakeney and Simmons that I didn't know about their games until now was that they are such poor jump shooters. In fact I thought just the opposite. Granted I don't follow the details of basketball recruiting all that close

Have you seen Sampson's stat line....not anything to brag about in the losses either. Simmons is getting them open looks all day, but they are settling for outside shots. No dribble penetration what so ever to try and draw the foul. We can blame that on Johnny Jones also...but these young men have to know when to pull the trigger from deep and when to take it to the basket...

that's all I really knew about him that's why I just took for granted he was going to be a good shooter.

Was he more know for other aspects of his game in high school? Was it already known about him that he couldn't shoot the ball? or has his shot just left him for the moment

He is shooting way too many 3s. He isn't really attacking like I thought he would be. Leave the 3s to Sampson and start attacking the basket.

If only we had a senior Guard who scores, shoots the 3 ball really well, and hustles his arse off who hasn't played yet this season due to injury...

he's just been terrible from the field. He's got a great shot. Good form, good lift. He was streaky at the high school level. I don't know what it is. Maybe he's not used to getting this many open looks. Simmons is creating space for our shooters to shoot and quite frankly they aren't knocking down the open shots.
