Cheif needs to let freak play strong side DT and let Ego play weak side, this puts freak in the B gap every play and makes it harder to double team him

Thanks for the input, coach. I'll make sure to pass that along to Chavis.

This. I remember LeRoy Glover having awesome years for the Saint's due to big Norman Hand eating up two blockers at a time. I have a feeling that Freak's play this year won't be shown in the stats. If Ego, QT, Rasco, Allen...etc all have good years, they'll have Freak to thank for it.

Exactly. The DEF line as a whole has looked pretty damn good this year and the double teams on Freak are definitely responsible for some of that.

Freak will be our first defensive player chosen to the NFL draft and is a top 3 player on the team.

Let me call "Cheif" right now and tell him this. How has this great defensive mind that gets paid millions to coach defense not thought of that?

Great googly moogly

Freak may have an elbow injury. He fell pretty hard on it the other night and walked off with his arm hanging limp. Maybe some rest this weekend would be good.

I agree. The one player that has really caught my eye is Danielle Hunter. He gets off blocks really well, good speed, he chases plays down and gives great effort. HUGE upside for #94. He's already well built, but he's got plenty of room to grow on his frame, so I think he will just continue to get better.

Right now, he may stuggle a bit when some of the bigger tackles get ahold of him, but I think he can offset a lot of that by eluding their grasp with his athletic ability (especially on a pass rush), and he has flashed some good power at times.

I wouldnt call it a slow start If youre commanding double teams every play, then your are helping out the DLine way more than if you got a couple sacks here and there.

yeah, but this doesn't help his draft status and get his name recognized, that's what these guys are concerned with....making plays. Making the $$$ at the next level with top entry level pay for performance.
