This is a message board about LSU athletics.

He is LSU's starting QB. And he is among the worst in the nation.

That should probably be talked about. Its not really his fault. He's a good kid. He's just not a good QB.

This is about sheer production. The numbers are horrendous.

Jennings is 102nd in passing yards.
84th in efficiency.
85th in passer rating
Stat sites won’t even rank him in completion %

He’s asked to do very, very little and doesn’t even do that well. We are obviously and actively gameplanning around him, as evidenced by the fact that we still regularly run one route plays with max protection.

It’s not anger, nor emotion. It’s plainly seeing what’s happening. The offense is ineffective almost exclusively because the QB is terrible.

Yeah, I caught that. Really hope he isn't being serious.

Um, I was being serious. Getting the top-ranked JUCO QB, who had also developed alongside Aaron Murray at Georgia, up to speed in your system is not the same as turning a 17yo into a solid D1 starter.

CLM and his offensive staffs have not done that in 10 years.

Posting stats is now bashing a kid? Interesting. The pumpers know no bounds.

He was at UGA one year, CC one year and LSU three years.

But yeah... Thanks, Richt!

Anthony Jennings ranking amongst his peers

Somehow, we are supposed to believe that when Miles recruited Jennings, Harris and Rettig, he somehow recruited the 125th, 126th and 127th best QBs available as far as completion percentage we could expect.

shite. We could've thrown darts at 4 star recruiting board and not achieved that.

This is FAR more than mere poor QB play at work.

you could put just about any of those guys ranked ahead of him in our system and they would suck bad. Conversely you could put Jennings on any of those other teams and he would be average at worst and pretty dam good on others.

I'm convinced of this as well. Just don't see how we could whiff so bad on so many high-star recruits while other teams seem to chunk it much better with less talented guys.

Jennings was good enough as a true Fr to beat out Rivers (3Y So). I don't think the problem is w/ AJ's talent.

and Cam has proven to be a big disappointment so far. He was hired to turn this around but has failed miserably so far. Just hope he see's the light in the offseason and makes the obvious changes that are so desperately needed for this team to reach the levels that they are so fully capable of reaching. Feel so bad for the players right now to play so hard and be handicapped by such bad coaching decisions that are so ingrained in our offense (offensive) philosophy.

I dont know Boxcar, they did well last year, and i think that Mett really improved under Cam. Mett has repeatedly praised cam.

I know they had seasoned WR's last year, but i am not ready to give up on cam.

Before I looked I knew it was bad, but last in completion percentage? That is way worse than I thought.

Many folks around my age don't realize how bad AJ's completion percentage would rank because frankly, 25 years ago, a QB with say, a 52% completion percentage was considered pretty darned good.

The game has changed though. 52% these days is just plain marginal. AJ's numbers are just catastrophic.

The sad part is that is apparently the best QB LSU can field.

If we had a middle of the pack qb, we'd be undefeated.

Eh, I'm not so sure the QB is solely to blame for 34-29 and 41-7, though

Not clear. The way Sumlin talks, however, he's been replaced as the starter for reasons other than discipline. He'd be a fool to sit behind Allen for two years (though Allen himself is a good QB).

well Allen looked good against Auburn, but looked like shite against UL Monroe

It was discipline. Also he can't sit behind Allen for 4 years, he is a sophomore.
