Anthony Jennings QB Comparison

People who refer to Jennings as “2.0” or the “Second Coming” may be right.
Jennings' Florida game stats look eerily familiar to stats of the past:
10 of 21 (48.0%) for 110 yards (0 INT; 1TD) [107.3 Rating]
I have to admit, I have a strong feeling of déjà vu: an LSU QB who plays okay during his first year at LSU causes the fans to think he might be an above average QB. However, when he becomes the starting QB in his second year at LSU, he has several games that are just plain bad: he completes less than 50% of his passes, he has anemic passing yards, and he has a passer rating less than 100. Look at these games:
11 of 25 (44.0%) for 158 yards (1 INT; 0 TD) [89.1 Rating]
12 of 25 (48.0%) for 148 yards (1 INT; 0 TD) [89.7 Rating]
11 of 29 (37.9%) for . 97 yards (0 INT; 1 TD) [77.4 Rating]
The similarities continue: the fans complain that he looks like he has no feel for the pocket, and he takes way too many sacks.
We all watched it happen. In the bowl game at the end of his first year as the starting QB, he misses easy passes, he throws for only 120 yards, and LSU loses.
I have to admit, after the Florida game, Jennings' numbers looked eerily like the Second Coming.
Hopefully, Jennings makes the same adjustments that Mett did near the end of his first year as LSU's starting QB. . . well, except for the bowl game.
Jennings 2014
57 of 114 (50.0%) for 928 yards (3 INT; 6 TD) [130.5 Rating]
Mett 2012
207 of 352 (58.8%) for 2609 yards (7 INT; 12 TD) [128.3 Rating]

He's terrible at throwing across the middle and stepping up in the pocket right now.
He has a long ways to go to become the second coming.

Are we talking second coming of Jordan Jefferson?

Last year, against this same Florida D, Mett was 9/17 for 152.

Jennings will never be what Mett was last year.
ETA: What is with your insistence to try to spin shitty QB play. You constantly defend Jefferson, and now you're doing the same thing with AJ.

I thought that mett was the second coming?

It's crazy because Harris keeps fleeing a good pocket while Jennings is stopping for a smoke in the pocket and takes the sack.
Both caused from inexperience and will work out hopefully.
Which is better/worse? Hard to say but seems like a better chance at positive yardage from scrambling outside, but not quite so soon.

If you are comparing him to JJ, then you can only do that with his play.
AJ has showed class, and he admits his faults. JJ could throw 3 picks and tell the media that he thought he played well.

Both of the QBs run backwards instead of stepping into the pocket and rarely look at middle routes.
Once they can do that, the passing game can move forward with something besides bombs after broken coverage and FB waggles.

Jennings' single redeeming skill is that he's good at throwing the long ball. That's all he's got.
He makes poor reads, doesn't feel pressure well, has minimal escapability for an "athletic" QB and cannot throw over the middle.
I'm not saying BH is any better, but don't try to make Jennings into a good QB. Because he isn't. And he shows little to no improvement each week.

The problem is he doesn't have any of the arm strength Mett has.
He can throw a deep ball to Dural if dural is wide open, and can adjust to it, otherwise he has no accuracy.

Jennings & Harris thur 6 games have already combined to throw as many touchdowns as Mettenberger did in 2013.

He will never be as good as Mett. He is as bad as JJ

bullshite on this! I don't have a horse in the race, but give the man his due; Jennings throws a great deep ball whether or not the receiver is covered, whether or not the receiver adjusts.

Mett got a lot better.
No reason to think Jennings won't get a lot better.

I don't think so.
