They went into halftime down by one. They were competitive for most of the game. Upsets do happen sometimes.

a coach with a personality maybe would draw some interest

this is is a big underestimated factor in the attitude of the fan base to this team. He's likable enough but he's not very dynamic of a personality at all. If he is not going to exhibit great enthusiasm for his program then why should the fan base be expected to do so?

You must be a dip shite college student that thinks the world revolves around any LSU function there is at the time.

Nope, only if you give a damn about a certain LSU sport. Football fans will make their trips, Baseball fans will make theirs, softball fans will make theirs, etc.

I'm not hating on the fans who simply said they had work and just couldn't make it. But the problem is that we have jackasses on here that say, "because the team is shite" and people who really aren't fans, but only show up when we start doing good.

Well yeah, most didn't. But what about Thursday against the lowly Arkansas team?

Saying a true LSU fan would have been there is assanine.

Then why did some LSU fans show up?

I would never go to the SEC tournament. Trashy Kentucky fans and poor refereeing just doesn't appeal to me.

Nah I grew up when LSU basketball meant something and had forward progress with a coach who made LSU basektball matter

So if we were as good as The Dale Brown era would you have gone?

now if you want to be a fan of moral victories and such knock yourself out

I have no clue what you are talking about.

I'm almost positive that if LSU went 8-5 in a football season and shite the bed the final 3 games you would've shown up. I would watch on TV just like I DVR'ed the two basketball games locally and watched after the fac

Well good, you proved me wrong here.

IMO no player or coach should be questioning LSU fans on their committment. This university is as well supported as almost any in the nation. If people don't support a certain program by showing up then maybe they are attempting to send the powers that be a message

This is true.

Hickey is a breath of fresh air! Make no mistake!
His effort is inspiring.

LSU Fans, however, are not fools. THE TEAM INCONSISTENCY HAS BEEN VERRRRRRY DISAPPOINTING!

So it is not a one way street here....easy to figure out. And Alleva can retain TJ, the fans will continue to stay away.

Didn't Hickey notice the "no shows," during the regular season? Then on the road at NOON ON A FRIDAY? We have had little to hope for, and it is because of the HC, coaching and failure to recruit.

It's always a fricking excuse.

I bought season tix in 09 from a guy because I said I would if they fired Brady. I didnt' buy in 10 because the jackass in 09 kept all the good games.

Why do you need a coach who is exciting to support the school you went to? Or to support kids who chose to bust their arse for the school you are suppose to love? Even if you want to coach gone that is no reason to force players who have been busting their arse to play in front of no one.

It's TJ's fourth season and we might make the NIT. 'nuff said.

Surely he can't be that dumbfounded as to why there is a lack of support.

We are still LSU and the game was in New Orleans against a top tier opponent.

Hickey is right. When it comes to LSU basketball, the LSU fan is a bandwagon fan.
