Freak fit the mold of a typical UT recruit. He was far more physically developed at an earlier age...dawn bear a finished product before he played a snap in college. He didn't improve much from that over three years.

He gets drafted if he comes back to LSU... I bet he is kicking himself right about now.

Would love to know what happened with him. He had all the tools, the size, speed, everything.

well he testesd out horribly, and i mean horribly. he doesn't seem to have size, speed, or strength at this time

with that physical testing? likely not

and his failed drug test probably took him off the majority of boards. marginal prospects failing drug tests is just terrible for draft positioning

I think all the jokes about him looking like an NFL player at 17 were pretty accurate..he peaked physically at 17/18

Really, at some point, the whole "freak" moniker needs to be done away with. He didn't come CLOSE to living up to that nickname

Agreed with everything you said until the last part. Luck set the NFL record for rookie passing yards and single handedly took that team from garbage to the playoffs. RG3 was sensational too, and accomplished much of the same, but to say he was way better is definitely a stretch.

Luck was an turnover MACHINE his rookie year (18 pics, 9 fumbles). A 54% cmp percentage is really bad. He averaged 6.9 ypa which means a shite ton of dump off passes. I drafted this guy as my second QB in fantasy and he was pretty bad for a while. Now he did run for 250 and 5 TDs, but he was basically Andy Dalton with a few more passing yards. He really improved in year two though and should be great going forward.

Reason why I say better his rookie year is that RG3 was playing lights out.

3200 pass yards 8.1 ypa 65% cmp percentage, 20 TDs 5 ints and added 815 yards on the ground for a whopping 6.8 ypc and 7 TDs. He threw almost only about 60% of the amount of passes Luck did.

RG3 had 10 total turnovers, Luck had 27 total.

Morris was just as big of a reason for the Redskins' turnaround as RG3.

RG3 ran for 815 yards and 7 TDs at 6.8 ypc, if they had a lesser running back, they still would have been alright. Dude was an efficient QB and was better than about half of the starting running backs in the league in his rookie year. You get two dominant players in one. That guy's talent isn't gone like some people think. More time removed from the injury will do him a world of good.

I think AJ just got some really bad advice. It happens.

I hope he blows up and lives up to his enormous potential. But everyone could see he wasn't ready to declare this year.

It really is unbelievable how many of the Kiffin-era Tennessee recruits ended up being massive flops, from Bryce Brown and David Oku to Darren Myles, Janzen Jackson, and the guy who raped his cousin with a plunger. Even without the arrests and suspensions, from a football perspective, all of these guys sucked besides Janzen.

I hope the players learn from the mistakes of the past 2 seasons of guys leaving early.
Freak could have been a first rounder next year.
