I have asked this before but I have never gotten a straight answer. Why do we have to play Alabama after a bye week every year. I know the folks at the SEC office don't give 2 craps about us. But how is that fair to us or the rest of the conference?

that is LSU's choice and it is bama's choice as well. It has been that way since 2009.

If that is true, then someone tell me what Lsu thinks they are gaining by giving saban another week to prepare

They don't get to control when Bama schedules their bye week? I guess you just think we have control of everyone's schedules. If that was the case we'd play Arkansas every year week one or two when they're a joke instead of at the end when the try to salvage their horrible seasons with a win against LSU.

Because we both choose to rest before our toughest game. Then CBS picks it for it's annual primetime slot every year.

Sorry AUB and UT. Bama vs LSU is where the hype is

The scheduling question I want answered is the bridge schedules which conveniently switched games vs Alabama and Georgia (when Georgia made to the SECCG) to LSU vs Georgia even though it was their turn in the rotation to play Georgia.

The answer? An Alabama alum was in charge of these bridge schedules.

Saban is not some great defensive mind. He gets the best players. Aranda is a great defensive mind.

So, this is a pretty big misconception. A bye week somewhat normalizes Saban in our situation. A lot of Saban's edge week over week is he out works other coaches and has his staff do the same. Works 140 hours a week, has coaches do working lunches every day.

With a bye week, there's diminishing returns. You can only prepare for one game for so long. Which is why a lot of the time the first week is primarily self-scouting and the second week is installing the game plan.

You get to schedule your bye week and it's a good time to rest. November is always a tough road so you wanna be healthy and it gives you an extra week to prepare. A few years ago I wanna say 7 of Bama's opponents came off a bye week before playing them and they protested the league saying it wasn't fair. Hasn't happened since so you can see they get their way. But most teams don't really want a bye before mid October anyway.

You obviously no nothing about Sagan, he was a defensive back at Kent State and a very good defensive coach before he became a head. He still coaches the DBs at Alabama. Defense has always been his forte.

You get to chose your own bye week man. LSU has no choice in the matter except when ours is
