Did anyone else notice he was constantly calling out protections to OL/RB’s? This was something that made Burrow so good— he was able to make pre snap reads and pick his slide and launch points in the pocket.
Nus also showed nice ability to move around in the pocket to buy time/create angles. He threw a great ball to Taylor in the seam where he slid to the right to create a better angle.

Seems like JD has his mind made up pre snap that he’s either going to his first read or taking off— although he did display some decent pocket presence when he was forced to because of his ankle injury.

He acted like a boss on the field. Pretty amazing...

He's good, no doubt. I am just wondering how consistent at play he is. I mean, he was very aggressive throwing deep balls with accuracy. Does not mean that all games he will be that efficient. Seemed to me that he had a good day, was loose and care free in making plays.

Now do this game after game and it may be a different story.

Early in the season, when JD was playing like shite, but running all over the place, i said that Nuss was a better quarterback. I got raked over the coals pretty good about that on here, because it was the same "but JD has all of our offensive yards". I stated, that Nuss is a true quarterback and his quick reads and quick release would be more beneficial than JD's legs.

It took a while, but JD slowly won me over after he proved himself after Florida, Ole MIss, and Alabama. But, once opposing teams figured him out, he became the same JD that started the season. Holds on to the ball way too damn long, and is very indecisive.

But, again, i was told Nuss is not the future. Nuss has an attitude problem and next year it's either JD or Howard. My how things have changed.

Even when JD was forced to throw the ball he didn't do it with the confidence Nuss has. His passes seemed slow and wobbly. Nuss on the other hand fires rockets the defensive players rarely can close on when they're on target. I would like to see what this kid does with 4 quarters when not having to pass 40 times in a half to catch up.

JD’s TD throw to Kayshon was great. Maybe one of his best throws of the season… we have seen him make that throw late and behind the WR (negating any chance for big YAC).

I have no idea why your reply is getting downvoted. It’s accurate and objective, and probably represents how much of the fan base feels.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I’ve never seen anything like it. The poise, the leadership, the determination. It was truly something to behold and something most true Tiger fans will never forget.

If he plays like he did the second half of the UGA game next season, which why wouldn’t he, he will throw for almost 9000 yards next season :0

WOW I never thought I’d like to see the day where an LSU quarterback threw for 9,000 yards, but here we are. The sky truly is the limit!

It also doesn't mean he will always be that aggressive. LSU was down 25. He needed to push it downfield.

Again, your concern can be corrected with coaching AND playing time.

Keep in mind: Nuss isn't just football smart he's smart smart. His dad is a former QB and current coach. He graduated early is an SEC academic honoree.

He is far from a finished product. As many have pointed out, JD now has 4 years' starting experience. At this point in his career, he is what he is. Not a judgment. It is what it is.

JD can still win games for us, but that will become tougher now that teams know he doesn't trust his arm much beyond 10 yards.

He's a redshirt freshman without any meaningful snaps this year. He is going to be inconsistent at times, but with more time, he will get better. He has a bright future with the coaches on staff.

I believe Daniels gave LSU the best chance this season. With a little more maturity and experience, I think Nussmeir has future here.

Nuss as QB and JD as wildcat QB and any other offensive position he can play with his blazing speed and elusiveness.

He's NFL draft material but not as a QB.

if he did this why wouldn't he look off the safety and then come back to his pre nap read? That was what made Burrow so good

What is he going to do when the defense drops 7 into coverage?

I agree, especially with so little previous opportunity and experience.

He’s going to become Jarrett Lee 2.0. And everyone on here will hate him. And JD will be a Heisman contender at some other school. And the QB experts on the rant will be clamoring how could BK let JD go?

It’s tRant QB cycle

I mean that’s what they did. And being up 3 scores, it was extra soft

The scary part for QBs is exotic pass rushes & blitzes.
